Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kelsea Moyers. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kelsea, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I hope my legacy is one of transformation — not just in the beauty I create behind the chair, but in the confidence I help awaken in others. I want to be remembered as someone who poured her heart into everything she touched — a visionary who turned a dream into a space where people felt seen, celebrated, safe and beautiful inside and out. As a mother, I want my children to say I showed them how to chase dreams boldly, love deeply, and live authentically. I hope people will say I brought light, laughter, and a little magic wherever I went — that I wasn’t just a stylist, but a spark. A woman who believed in herself, believed in others, and inspired them to do the same.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m an entrepreneur, salon owner, artist, and dreamer at heart — someone who believes that beauty is both a craft and a calling. My journey into the hair industry started with a love for transformation — not just how someone looks, but how they feel. I wanted to create a space where people could reconnect with their confidence, self-worth, and sense of joy.
At 314 Beauty Haven, we specialize in personalized beauty experiences that blend expert technique with a touch of everyday magic. Whether it’s a transformative haircut, a vibrant color refresh that brings someone back to life, or a moment of calm in the chaos — our goal is to make every client leave glowing, inside and out. We offer a full range of services including glamorous makeup, luxurious hair treatments, soothing scalp massages, precision waxing, and playful touches like hair tinsel that add a little sparkle to your day. Every service is delivered with intention, care, and a flair for the fabulous. At 314 Beauty Haven, beauty isn’t just about the look — it’s about how you feel. We’re here to lift your confidence, celebrate your individuality, and help you shine your light with style.
What sets me apart is the energy and intention I bring into every appointment. This isn’t just about hair; it’s about connection, empowerment, and creating a vibe where clients feel truly seen and celebrated.
I’m most proud of the community I’ve built — a place where style meets soul, and where every client leaves feeling like the best version of themselves. A safe haven for all. I want people to know that my work is fueled by passion, purpose, and a whole lot of heart. This is more than a business — it’s my way of helping people shine, inside and out. My legacy.

Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?
Three years ago, my world came to a sudden, terrifying halt. What started as a seemingly routine illness quickly escalated into sepsis. Sepsis is a life-threatening condition that occurs when the body’s response to infection causes widespread inflammation, leading to tissue damage, organ failure, and often death. I was rushed to the hospital in unbearable pain, with my body rapidly shutting down. I had never heard much about sepsis before, but I quickly learned just how deadly it could be — and how rare survival truly is. According to the CDC, sepsis affects over 1.7 million adults in the U.S. each year and is responsible for 1 in 3 hospital deaths. Once it sets in, every hour without treatment increases the risk of death by as much as 8%. I was running out of time.
I spent almost 2 weeks in the hospital, I had to undergo 6 surgeries, and I was uncertain if I would ever return to 314 Beauty Haven or to the life I cherished. The pain I endured was far beyond the physical — it was emotional and spiritual. I worried deeply, not only about my health but about my children, my partner, my clients, and the business I had poured my heart and soul into. Against the odds, I survived. Slowly, step by step, I began to heal. Recovery wasn’t immediate; it was a long, humbling journey marked by setbacks, physical therapy, and moments of profound fear. Yet through it all, I gained something invaluable: perspective.
That experience changed me forever. It taught me to lead with gratitude, to value each day, and to pour even more heart into my craft. Coming back from sepsis wasn’t just a physical recovery — it was a rebirth. I reopened my salon not just as a business owner, but as a survivor — someone who truly understands how fragile life can be, and how vital it is to live with passion, presence, and heart. Every client I serve, every style I create, and every moment in that chair feels sacred. 314 Beauty Haven isn’t just a salon — it’s a symbol of resilience, healing, and the magic that unfolds when you fight your way back to the life you love.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been building genuine, trusting relationships—both in and out of the salon. I believe beauty is personal, so taking the time to really listen to my clients’ stories, needs, and dreams helps me create looks that make them feel confident and celebrated. Beyond skill and technique, it’s the connection and care that keeps people coming back and referring their friends. I also focus on creating a welcoming, magical atmosphere at 314 Beauty Haven, where clients don’t just get a service—they experience a moment of joy and self-love. Word of mouth, fueled by those authentic connections and the results we deliver, has been the heart of my growth. Social media helps amplify our story, but it’s the real, human relationships that truly build a loyal and thriving community.
