Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kellyann Alvarez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kellyann, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Crazy stuff happening is almost as certain as death and taxes – it’s technically “unexpected” but something unexpected happening is to be expected and so can you share a crazy story with our readers?
The craziest thing that ever happened? Saying, YES! Starting Kreative Kreations by KK was supposed to be about epoxy crafts, stickers, and things like that. Guess what. Two years later, I have only done one thing out of epoxy. Ironic, I know. How did saying YES changed our business? Well, out of nowhere, a travel agent contacted us through Facebook to request if we could do a welcome basket for a client traveling to Disney World. Without any hesitation I answered “YES! Sure we can.” Of course, I didn’t know what I was doing, I just knew I was capable of doing it. We delivered the basket and uploaded the photos to social media. Suddenly, orders started pouring in! And door and room decorations? Another travel agent requesting a service we did not offer at the time, but when presented with the request, guess what I answered. YES; yes, again. After a rave review and another recommendation, MORE orders. Our business page grew from three hundred to over a thousand in less than a week. Everything because I was not afraid of saying YES, of evolving and adapting to the demand. As of today we still do not work with epoxy but definitely make a lot of baskets and decorations!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Let’s start with WHY I love creating unforgettable memories for my clients. As a lay-off cast member from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort in Orlando, I needed to find a way to keep creating memories, moments that last a lifetime. It was not easy receiving the letter of notice for lay-offs during the COVID pandemic. All the accomplishments with the company, all the goals that I had, everything that I dreamed about went straight down the drain with that letter. Not knowing whether I would be called back gave me so much anxiety. I knew I needed to do something. I focused on finding a way, MY way, to keep the magic alive. That search is how Kreative Kreations by Kk was born in 2019.
One night my oldest daughter Kelitxa was playing with an epoxy craft set. The first idea that came to my mind was crafts… then epoxy… and charms!… so many possibilities. We decided on a name and started “kreating.” Before I knew it, Kreative Kreations by Kk was becoming an LLC with 3 assistants.
What do we offer? In-room celebrations, door decorations, snacks and custom baskets, tumblers, and t-shirts.
Where? Walt Disney World and Universal Resorts, neighborhood resorts, and airbnbs.

Looking to add lifelong memories to your trip to Orlando? Send us a message, because you don’t need a special occasion to celebrate; your visit itself is a reason to celebrate!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What helped us build our reputation has been and continues to be our customer service and quality of work. I don’t even remember the last time we paid for an advertisement on any of the platforms we use. Our customers’ satisfaction is our best advertisement!

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Focusing on who our target clientele are. Our target is Walt Disney World and Universal Studios visitors. We evaluate their needs and try to make a special vacation experience stress-free. Guests come to celebrate different occasions. They don’t have the tools to transport or set up decorations or gifts, so we offer that service while they are out enjoying their day. When they return, they come back to a room full of surprises!
