Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kelly Yetzer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kelly, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
When going into this field I found so many of my clients struggled with the service they received either at another PMU studio. They felt like the technicians didn’t listen to them at all. Often they would tell me how they explained what they wanted and ended up with something totally different.
For me I thought this is their face, how could anyone ignore what they were saying.
After having my own not so great, but also not horrible, experience I felt it was imperative that I always listen to my clients desires. Really hear them. Ask them to show me example photos of their desired look. I also prefer they show me photos of my own work because if they are picking someone else’s work, they are expecting someone else’s work to be done on them and I may not be able to deliver that.
I imagined a client going into get a service and telling their technician how they want a natural looking brow, a beautiful eyeliner or gorgeous blushed lips. Next I imagined them going into that studio for cosmetic tattooing. Telling the technician, they want a natural looking brow, they rarely wear makeup and they don’t fill their brows in everyday. The technician says oh I totally agree and completely understand what you mean, I will definitely go natural with you. Imagine being that client and walking out with a solid ombré brow instead of microblading??? They now have to live with that, if they do nothing to remove them, for a minimum of 3 years and could be as long as 10.
To me I wanted clients to know they are at the forefront of the service they are about to receive. I also never schedule more than 2 new clients per day with a 4 hour block for each one. I do this for two reasons. They need all the time they want to tell me their concerns, desires and final outcome, and I need all the time I want to design a beautiful brow, eyeliner or lip as well as choose the right service for my clients. In the same manner I feel it is equally as important to check on clients. This way when they leave the studio they know that no matter what, they received a premium service experience at an affordable price.
When they leave, they know I am going to check in on them via text. A simple how are your brows looking/feeling today? Gives the client the opportunity to ask any questions about concerns or fears they are encountering. It demonstrates how much they mean to us as a client!
So our mission statement is simply this.
“We want every client to feel welcomed, understood, known, relaxed, and cherished, all while building their confidence so they can Live Life Beautiful by Design.”

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Social media was and is still my hardest task. In my personal life I rarely post and am not really into over sharing anything. I learned quickly I had to overcome this for my business. At first I really only posted photos of clientele. But the longer I was in this business the more I realized people wanted to be educated about what cosmetic tattooing really was. People would message me all the time asking questions about what is it really permanent? How long is it going to last? Can I pick the color? How does it work? So on and so forth.
It was exhausting to be honest. I was so overwhelmed by having to message people back until 8 pm at night I decided I needed to up my social media tactics. I started out with small posts about things like the process, aftercare, skincare, sunscreen, how long it lasts, and so on. Now instead of posting all client photos I post information and clients. I don’t post all client photos because many of my clients request not to be put on social media and that works for me too, therefore I post information for them. Tidbits about myself. How to care for their new permanent makeup.
Slowly but surely I have built an audience on Social Media. It isn’t a large community but it is one in which people see my content and when they see me in person they tell me all the time, You do such a good job. I still can’t bring myself to do reels but am hoping that with the new year I can get that mastered as well!!!
The one thing that is a given with social media is be consistent. People love consistency and if you repeat yourself it is okay. You will have new people seeing your content all the time and the ones who already follow you may have missed the previous post!! Just be genuine and authentic no matter what and people will notice!!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Great question! Word of mouth!
Word of mouth by far has made this business what it is today! With each new client they tell a friend or family member. Then they make an appointment and tell their friends and family and so on.
I believe that almost as equal to word of mouth is our passion to make sure clients are happy with their service. What I mean by that is, we check on all our clients either the next day or a few days after they’ve had their service. Cosmetic tattooing is an emotional rollercoaster for so many because of the changes they go through with it. Because we care enough to call, text or voice message them to see how everything is going, it shows that we stand out from other places. It gives them a chance to ask questions if they have any. It demonstrates the dedication we have to our brand and clients!
