Alright, Kelly thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Aesthetics is a rapidly growing industry. It seems that on almost every corner is another med spa offering botox , lasers and filler . Even though you have plenty of options for treatment , many places have the same availability , Monday thru Friday 9-5. As a nurse and a busy mom of 3, fitting an appointment in on this rigid schedule was next to impossible . On the rare occasion of getting an appointment at a medspa , I then faced the “med spa intimidation” . Walking into a place filled with beautiful , wealthy people who are ready to upsell you on packages, treatment and skin care products that your budget isn’t prepared for . For me , it became clear that aesthetic care should be more accessible, more affordable and more personal . It’s your face, it’s your budget. It should be your beauty , on your terms. And so my mission at Best Face Forward, LLC became exactly that.

Kelly, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Best Face Forward, LLC is a mobile aesthetics company offering FDA approved treatments by a certified nurse injector in the greater Wilson County area. I started this company in 2023 with the goal of making aesthetic care more accessible, more affordable, and more personal .
First and foremost, I am a nurse . I have been a nurse since 2008, and I love it, I love helping people, I love feeling a sense of purpose in my work . I am also a wife and a mother . I take pride in caring for my family . After 15 years in emergency medicine , I found it harder and harder to leave a hard day at work behind me . I found myself more and more tired on my days off and not feeling able to give my family the version of me they deserved . Then on one of my days off I scheduled a botox treatment for myself , I took my youngest child with me and was turned away because I had a child with me . I was disappointed and discouraged at the idea of other working moms like me hitting this road block , and being forced to yet again cancel their self care . In that moment I realized my love of nursing and my love of helping others could help me change the narrative in aesthetic care .
While researching aesthetic nursing , I came across a company called Smiley Aesthetics . They offer training and the ability to own your own business . With their guidance and mentorship I was able to start Best Face Forward, LLC. I am “powered by smiley aesthetics” meaning my business operates under their umbrella, much like a franchise . My medical director, policies and procedures , continuing education and product comes from Smiley Aesthetics .
Opening a mobile med spa was something I was not sure I was capable of , but I was determined . In addition to learning a new skill set, I taught myself how to make a website, how to grow a social media platform, how to manage money in business and how to set myself apart from all the other med spas. After 1 year in business I am proud to say I currently have over 100 clients , I offer competitive pricing, flexible scheduling, payment plans and a personal relationship with my clients that honors their aesthetic goals and their budget alike . My clients are not famous, they are not incredibly wealthy, most of them are working moms like me , looking for an ally in the aesthetic space . My logo for Best Face Forward proudly displays the letters “BFF”, because everyone deserves to have a down to earth , relatable friend who just happens to be educated and trained in making you look your best .

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Much like any service based industry, aesthetic care is most successfully marketed through word of mouth . Every face I treat is a walking billboard for Best Face Forward, LLC . Confidence in your appearance cannot be ignored, and when you look and feel your best, those around you notice . When they say “wow you look great? What are you doing?” You proudly share the contact information for the person who cuts your hair, or does your nails, or the name of the new make up you are wearing . Well now, you can also share the information of your aesthetic injector who can come to their house on their time , create a treatment plan that is unique to their goals and help them feel their best too.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Every single client I treat becomes a friend. I want to hear about their lives, their work day, their parenting struggles . My clients can reach me anytime on my cell phone, they can randomly message me a picture of their face and say “what should I do for this” or “what is the price of that”. It makes their experience feel more personal and every client I see knows I want them to love their results , so we will do whatever is needed to make that happen .
