We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kelly Resendez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Kelly , appreciate you joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea

GoBundance Women was co-founded by a unique group of women that came together in San Diego, Ca. in 2017. We all sought out this opportunity to bring our collective wisdom and experiences together so that we could lift one another up. We all shared similar stories and wanted to impact other women more but also wanted to surround ourselves with other high-achieving women. Most of us had no idea what it was about when we arrived but by the time we left, we had a clear vision of the type of community we wanted to build. The men’s GoBundance community had been around for years, so we leveraged their tools and platforms initially. We had two amazing mentors from the men’s side, Jon Berghoff and Mike McCarthy, who helped us along the way. We modeled what was working best for the men’s division and added a lot of our own ideas to build a membership community for successful women who wanted more connection and accountability. The first month we formed pods of women who met twice a month with the intention of sharing goals and our one sheet which is a tool that helps you stay on track with your life vision. The second month we started planning online masterclasses and our next event that would happen in Nashville the following spring. Every month after that we added more that we could offer the women that were joining. In December of 2022, Cathy, Mandy and I took ownership of GoBundance Women so that we could help reach even more women that also wanted to power up their lives. Since then, we have overhauled our website www.gobundancewomen.com, launched a new backend community site, and hired key roles so that we can reach thousands of women within the next 5 years.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I founded mastermind communities after years of feeling lonely. I am an executive for GoodLeap, a multi-billion-dollar fintech company and co-own GoBundance Women as well. Most women give consistently to others but don’t take the time to put themselves first. They have challenges asking for help and limit the speed at which they can create success because of this. How’d you meet your business partner?

Cathy and I met in San Diego in December 2018 after the men’s division of GoBundance set up an exploration meeting. We instantly clicked and stepped up into leadership roles to help launch the women’s division. We met Mandy years later at our event in Cinnamon Shores. It was love at first sight from a partnership aspect. We all have a mutual desire to impact millions of women and work hard every day to make that a reality.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

Originally the women’s division was managed by the men’s organization until we took ownership in December 2022. We were all volunteering as members for the first several years and had to work with a lot of different personalities over that span of time. Mandy, Cathy and I were all determined to create something special together. We spent countless hours putting together a plan with the men to allow us to take over. There were so many times we felt like giving up, but we cared so much about our community that we didn’t. Through it all, our mindset of everything always works out for us allowed us the confidence to keep moving forward.
