Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kelly Morgan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, Kelly thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

The most meaningful project I worked on was definitely my single ” I Wanna Fall In Love” it was so organic and after I released the remix. It opened up more doors for me Rolling Stone picked up the song and they put it in their article. Which lead to the billboard in Times Square. At first I was really afraid to release the song and when I decided to just release it I felt omg I’m not ready yet I don’t think. I just told myself yes I should release it. I wrote the song about my love for music and wanting to fall in love with everything that comes with music. I just switched some words around to make it sound like a relationship. That’s why I wanna fall in love project single was so important to me. It helped contributed to people taking me more and more serious as a artist that’s what I want as a artist to be taking seriously. Because music is my everything .

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?

As soon as I turned 17 , I was able to do more with my music. My parents didnt get it so I had to wait until then. I started going to state to state performing at open mics, I started auditioning for music tv shows, I started to build my network and networking and building genuine relationships with people because people are people first. I treat them like my friends because they are my friends that’s just how I am. My Bio : Kelly is a young POP/R&B singer from Atlanta , GA. Kelly had a breakthrough performance on Showtime At The Apollo on FOX in 2018 which reached 1.3 million viewers. She has also performed at New York Fashion Week at Sony Hall 2022 . She has appeared on Fox’s Emmy Award-winning T.V show called Teen Kids News (2019 & 2021). Kelly also received her first Time Square Billboard in NYC on September 26th! She also opened for Ashanti & Ja Rule twice and was recently followed by Ariana Grande on Twitter. Her song ” I Wanna Fall In Love (REMIX) was featured in Rolling Stone Magazine 2021. Kelly says her motto is “big dreams & a big heart to follow.” She recently opened up the WNBA Atlanta Dream game with the National Anthem. As far as her songwriting, “I want my music to touch someone — for them to be able to say hey I can relate to that story let me spread it around to everyone who can relate as well.” Music was an escape and a means to cope with bullying at an early age. I want my fans/followers to know it’s never too early or too late to go for your dream. We have to make the most of the life we were blessed to live.

Is there a mission driving your creative journey?

Yes , My grandmother ( R.I.P) . We promised each other that I would make my dreams come true. My mission is to get my message out through the music I sing. It’s to live my purpose and impact lives while doing it. I want my music to reach the masses. I want as many people or even if it’s one person I want it to inspire them. I write from my heart. Some songs I write about that I have no experience in I try to put myself in their shoes because I want them to be able to hear one of my songs and say Hey! I can identity with her music . The end goal is I want my music expanded , if that means signing with a record label . I want to be able to tell a story with my music.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?

I think society should not be so quick to dismiss that it’s not a real job. Because we are doing work , we are working hours getting ready for a performance the same way someone would work for a test or evaluation . I think as artist we should be able to get paid for our work and not be expected to sing or entertain for free . I think society can value artist more because what is a world? without music? without that song that gets you through the day or week? I think it should be looked at as a real career even in the beginning stages everyone has to start from somewhere we should get the same support as other career choices.
