We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kelly Lanes a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kelly, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Faith.
Well, faith and copious amounts of coffee.
Truthfully, you can have the best product/idea/service in the world, but if you don’t have faith in how it can help the world be a better place, it won’t succeed.
Faith is in every nook and cranny of your life, and once you lean into it, magic happens.
Faith (and coffee) have been with me every step of the way with my career and will continue to do so.
If you feel it, deep in your core, that what you are doing will help someone and serve others more than yourself, your faith will help you make that happen.
Feeling into faith will support you when the going gets tough.
Feeling into faith serves others more than yourself.
Feeling into faith shows you that no matter what needs to get done, you have the inner strength to do it.
Coffee always helps this process, too! I truly believe that my mission is to spread joy, one cup of coffee at a time and I do that through my faith in what I do and how I serve others.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For those of you who don’t know me — I’m a caffeine, collaboration, and cat lover, who most days wishes she was Lorelai Gilmore. I strive on all things strategic thinking and positivity and I dream daily about how little old me can change the world to be a more positive place.
On the business side — I am a serial entrepreneur, marketing expert, and public speaker. I love serving my clients through my caffeinated energy, proven strategies, and positive attitude.
I’ve been in the professional marketing world for 10+ years and worked in industries far and wide. Ever since I was in middle school, I knew I wanted to go into marketing as a profession.
To me, marketing is more than just a job title, it is the ability to make people feel something about a brand that they haven’t before. I love getting a full cup of coffee and diving into deep thinking zones to build strategies that help my clients get ahead of the curve.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Word of mouth.
My clients are the best people. My team and I get to work with heart-centered entrepreneurs who have missions to make the world a better place by what they offer.
Because I get to work with heart-centered people and drive solutions for them, they often refer me to others.
Kindness, collaboration, and coffee chats go a long way.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Navigating the complexities of divorce while simultaneously growing a business and relocating across the country was an unforeseen convergence of challenges that tested me in ways that I never could have imagined. In the midst of emotional turmoil and the demands of restructuring my personal life, the businesses required unwavering focus and strategic decision-making. The geographical move added another layer of stress.
However, through these tumultuous times, I discovered an inner strength that I never knew existed. Every setback became an opportunity for growth, teaching me adaptability and fortitude. The synergy of personal and professional challenges forged a resilient spirit within me, capable of withstanding life’s storms. My faith, without a doubt, pulled me through each step of the way.
Today, I view those trials not as hindrances but as transformative milestones that shaped my character, honed my leadership skills, and ultimately propelled me towards a more resilient and empowered version of myself.
