We recently connected with Kelly Kolodzinski and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kelly thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Renew Holistic Wellness is an integrative wellness center and our mission is to transform the mind, body and spirit of our clients. We believe the body has the capacity to heal itself if given the chance. We love to help our clients feel better and take ownership of their health and wellness, while offering our expertise, services and products to support their journey.
People often find us because they don’t feel their best and they aren’t sure why — but they DO know they want to feel better and oftentimes aren’t sure where to start. Our experience and education gives us the background to help teach clients about their body and understand how diet and lifestyle shifts can create a profound impact on their health.
We look at how the whole body works together and design a plan to help our clients makes changes on their own, while we support during their in-person appointments. Our practitioners are a carefully cultivated group of healers brought together to create a magical healing atmosphere in a warm and welcoming space. We have a passion for healing and helping others feel better. We seek solutions and share our expertise to help our clients achieve their goals. We take pride in what we do and strive to be the best in our industry and offer the best solutions for our clients’ health and wellness needs.
It’s also important to note that our practitioners have been on their own healing journey as well. In fact, the services we offer have all helped us feel better, which is why we offer them! Rest assured, not only do we teach our clients, we walk our talk as well.
We welcome in anyone who’s ready to feel better. While we work locally with clients, we also coach and offer nutrition coaching globally.

Kelly, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I “retired” from the corporate world to work with clients and help them feel better. It was through my own health crisis and healing journey that I discovered integrative wellness.
At the time, I wasn’t willing to admit I was sick – I didn’t comprehend it, but I felt terrible and didn’t understand why because I felt I was “healthy”. I worked with doctors who not only didn’t diagnose me correctly, but frankly insulted me and told me I was … crazy, among other things. I knew I didn’t feel well and believed in my heart and soul it didn’t have to be this way. There had to be a better solution.
That’s when I took a chance and got a colonic and frankly, it changed my life. After life-long chronic issues, I was able to start feeling better by detoxing my body. Additionally, after much soul searching, I went back to school to study nutrition and coaching, which is something that is missing from our traditional medical system, unfortunately.
I started Renew Holistic Wellness based on these two services knowing I could help others feel better and not suffer as long or as intensely as I did at the time. I went from barely surviving to thriving in my days. Understand, this did take time, but it taught me so much to focus on my own healing. Doing this work on myself also helps me have the ability to truly connect with my clients and understand where they are coming from. Sometimes, being fit and a healthy eater still creates health problems, so we have to understand WHY those issues are occurring. It gives me great pleasure to work with clients and uncover why they aren’t feeling well and then, further, help them start to turn their health around.
I always tell my clients “the universe whispers and then it screams”. All too often we don’t listen to the whispers and when the universe is screaming at us to pay attention (in my case as well as many others), we’re faced with a health crisis. However, with this healing journey, I am now able to not only connect with clients but help them through their challenges as well.
What sets us apart from others is not only our compassion and ability to meet clients where they are with their health challenges (whether at the beginning or more advanced healing stages), but also the work we do ourselves. We don’t fall into the category of a “quick fix” or “a fad” and because of that, we can help our clients create long-term, sustainable results.
As a practitioner, I am thrilled when clients share their successes with me. Not only their own success — feeling better, weight loss, sleeping better, looking better, and more, but also the success they have with their families and friends by sharing what they’ve learned.
It is also exciting that we have been able to expand our business over the years. We are avid students and always learning ways to grow and continue to offer our clients the best services available.
Services offered include: Colon Hydrotherapy, Ionic Foot Detox, Ear Candling, Raindrop Therapy, Infrared Sauna, Amethyst Bio Mat, Whole Body Vibration, Breast Thermography, Body Thermography, Reiki Healing, Reiki Classes, Wellness Consultation, Integrative Wellness & Nutrition Coaching.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Frankly, my entire career has been a series of pivots. When I was younger, I thought I wanted to be a lawyer and worked in law firms for the better part of 10 years. While working in law as a hybrid secretary-paralegal, I went back to school to get my bachelor’s degree in communications and business. I then worked in marketing and advertising for many years. In marketing, I got to work with some of the largest household name brands in the food and beverage industry and live in various states to expand my horizons.
When I went through my own healing crisis, I realized I was advertising foods and beverages that weren’t congruent the recommendations I was making to my health and wellness clients and I made the decision to “retire” from the corporate world to embark on the venture that became Renew Holistic Wellness.
At first, I planned to build the business on coaching and nutrition. I received the education to support this and focused on this for a short time and then decided to expand into colon hydrotherapy and, shortly thereafter, thermography. The biggest pivot in this industry has been understanding that diversity is key and offering a range of services that meet with our brand mission and vision, but also are appealing to our clients to help them achieve their health and wellness goals.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
When I decided to retire from the corporate world to start my business, it was frankly terrifying and something I hadn’t planned for. I was shifting from a solid paying corporate job to hustling for every penny I made.
Initially, I started my business in a 400 square foot office with one service room and one office/reception area. That teeny location felt like a safe haven to start — I could afford it and it was in an area I was familiar with. When we first open the doors to our business, so many of us think (or hope) that people will line up down the street for our services. When, in fact, it takes sleepless nights, stressful days, networking, beginning to make a name for yourself, referrals and more, to build a solid foundation and further begin to gain momentum.
Since pouring myself into this business, I have been able to expand my business twice — we are now in a 2,700 square foot location with multiple practitioners working with me. It is always a balance of managing time, managing bills and taking leaps of faith to grow and expand.
With that said, I have been entirely self-funded. I didn’t “get funding” or “capital” to get started. I had nothing but a hope and belief that this would work. So, I took out a loan to purchase my thermography camera. I dipped into my corporate 401K to support me with supplies. I recruited my family members to help by putting sweat equity into building the business space and painting, etc.. And, importantly, I believed it would work out.
Business ownership is not for the faint of heart. It requires dedication and resilience to continue to build and grow. It is massively rewarding to help people, however, it does need care and cultivation and dedication to bring it all together.
