We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kelly Johnson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kelly, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Do you take vacations? Why or why not?
My family and I enjoy taking vacations together. As a business owner, I always prepare for time away from work by preparing as much as possible in advance and having team members help out when I am away. I am always available to respond to client messages while I am traveling.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started my professional organizing business in 2019. I was searching for a career that I felt passionately about and that gave me the flexibility that I needed to take care of my daughter. I have my degree in Housing and Interior Design from Missouri State University. Interior design and home organizing has always been a passion of mine, so finding the industry of Professional Organizing felt like the perfect fit for me.
I help my clients achieve their home organizing goals by working directly with them to go through their items and make sure everything is categorized and contained. My team also creates organized systems that our clients can maintain. We love creating organized and beautiful spaces in our client’s homes!

How did you build your audience on social media?
We get many of our clients through Instagram. We love sharing our projects with our Instagram followers. We have been lucky enough to work with some local influencers who have shared about our work. In turn, we have gained a great local audience, some of which have become our clients!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Our team genuinely loves helping our clients reach their goals. We know that one system is not going to work for everyone, so we take the time to listen to our clients and figure out what will work best in their homes, for their families. We tend to build friendships with a lot of our clients because we truly care about them and enjoy working with them.
