We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kelly Hawley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kelly below.
Kelly , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
When I reflect upon the challenges my parents faced and the impact it had on our family, one thing they did right is that they taught me that love is the key to healing and redemption, regardless of the circumstances. This understanding has become the very foundation from which I operate, both in my personal life and through the endeavors of Warrior Bride Ministries. When individuals arrive at our ministry, often burdened by defeat and hopelessness, it is through the practical and tangible expression of love that they find the strength to embrace their healing journey. As they experience love in action, something extraordinary occurs—it breathes new life into them, equipping them with confidence and empowerment to reclaim their lives and emerge as warriors. Love, with its transformative and healing power, becomes the catalyst for remarkable journeys of personal triumph.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Kelly Hawley, and I am an ordained minister and the founder and President of Warrior Bride Ministries. I have been ministering to survivors of childhood exploitation for 15 years including working as a Director of Healing Retreats for Voice Today. While doing so, I noticed the Lord was sending many who had been trafficked. That exposed me to the bigger picture and the lack of help available to trafficked survivors. After being called out of corporate America to start my own business about 10 years ago, my heart for seeing others healed and redeemed continued to grow. In 2021, the Lord led me to start Warrior Bride Ministries with the mission of providing biblical healing and restoration of child exploitation to survivors. The office is in Kennesaw GA and serves clients locally and internationally. In addition to inner healing and deliverance, Warrior Bride Ministries partners with others in the healing profession to offer resources such as biocharge, DBT, CBT, sand tray therapy, life skills coaching, trauma informed chiropractic care, and discipleship. I also embrace the call to unite the body of Christ to become educated and involved through business, church, individual partnership, and hosting our Counting the Cost of our Children conferences. It has been an amazing journey with the Lord teaching me how to walk alongside survivors by incorporating the mind, body, spirit, and soul for complete healing. My heart’s cry is for all believers to embrace Isaiah 61 by becoming equipped to walk in the anointing that will bind up the brokenhearted and set the captives free. We are experienced and skilled in working with those who come out of trafficking, ritual abuse, and mind control and take a natural approach to meet the unique needs of these clients. However, we also want to reach any survivor who seeks healing from childhood trauma. Some people might need to come for 1-5 sessions while others might work with us for 2 years. It all depends on what the client wants and needs. We strive to foster an inclusive environment where all who are committed to healing are welcomed with open arms. One of the things that sets us apart is that we never charge survivors for services. We rely on the Lord to move the hearts of people and organizations to do the financial supporting of the cause and help us to continue to have a place for them to come to do the work of redemption. Survivors have had a price tag on their body, so we make sure there is no price tag on their healing.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
In the realm of ministry and working as a team, the notion of equality and shared responsibilities often holds great appeal. However, the lesson I learned is that achieving true success and unity requires strong leadership and organized structure. When I first started the ministry, it seemed like having every team member stand on equal footing was the ideal approach as I valued what each member brought to the table. However, I soon discovered that the absence of a clear leader and organized structure led to unforeseen chaos and stress.
Through that tumultuous period, I came to understand the significance of having a leader at the helm, responsible for organizing and directing the team toward a common goal. This pivotal lesson revealed that a well-defined leadership role, such as an executive director, plays a vital part in maintaining order, fostering collaboration, and keeping everyone focused on the ministry’s purpose. By establishing this central figure, the ministry found stability and a solid foundation for growth. I learned there is a delicate balance between equality and leadership. The journey of building a successful and impactful organization requires a clear vision, an organized structure, and the wisdom to recognize individual readiness. By embracing the role of leadership and providing a platform for diverse voices to contribute, it enabled the joining of everyone’s unique strengths and talents, resulting in a collective effort towards achieving the shared goal of uplifting and supporting survivors.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Investing in a deep relationship with the Lord is the utmost priority when working in deliverance ministry. Survivors who have endured such profound trauma rely on your unwavering understanding of your authority in the name of Yeshua. It is crucial not to succumb to fear or doubt the immense power that His name holds. While listening to the countless difficult and tragic stories, it is essential to approach survivors with compassion and guide them through their healing process, all the while entrusting their stories to the Lord. It is in the daily fostering of your own relationship with Him that you can rest assured that He will abundantly meet their needs and provide them with safety as they continue to grow in Him.
