We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kelly Bluth a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kelly, thanks for joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
This is a hard question because I cannot pinpoint one project in particular. I would say that my two podcasts and the freelance writing I have done for wellness brands have been the most meaningful because I know I am sharing research and knowledge that most don’t have and are eager to learn.
Kellyq, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Kelly Bluth. I am a woman in her mid-thirties who is obsessed with learning and growing as a holistic human being. For the past 11 years, I have been teaching elementary school students as my full-time job. In 2020, I decided I wanted to learn how to heal myself naturally from chronic gut issues that originated in childhood. In June of 2021, I started a podcast to share what I was learning on my journey to becoming a certified holistic nutritionist. Then, as a certified holistic nutritionist, I worked with women 1-1 to help them implement holistic lifestyle habits that can ultimately lead to holistic healing.
Fast forward, I now have two podcasts, one focused on holistic health for millennial women and one for loving pet parents. I am currently working on a picture book series for children focused on holistic health topics and learning more about creating a non-profit for animal welfare. Additionally, I continue to educate both in the classroom and through freelance copywriting for several health and wellness brands. You can check out some of my work on Substack.
My goal and mission in this life is to educate and serve. The passion I have for holistic wellness and animal welfare (as a mama of three pups) is at the forefront of everything I do.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
As I mentioned earlier, my goals are to educate both women who are passionate about improving their health and wellness and those who desire to support their fur babies by making informed decisions for their health and wellness. These two goals are fueled by my passion for both topics. As an autoimmune warrior who has dealt with a whole host of issues over the past two decades, adopting a holistic lifestyle has changed my life and I am confident it can change the lives of others. My love of animals, especially dogs, has inspired me to learn more about how we can provide them with the best care. This birthed the idea for creating the Pawsitive Podcast, as well as my life-long desire to create an animal welfare non-profit.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My favorite story to share that illustrates my resilience is running a full marathon for the first time in October 2020. As a huge advocate and lover of daily movement, I decided to run my first full marathon in 2020. Before signing up, I had run several half marathons and was eager to take my skills to the next level. Unfortunately, as we all know Covid shut down the world in the spring of 2020, which ultimately canceled the full marathon I had signed up to run that fall. However, if you know me, you know I am not a quitter. When I found out the full marathon had been canceled, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I mapped out and created a 26.2-mile route in my neighborhood to run on race day. I am proud to say that I completed my first-ever full marathon in October 2020.
