Kelly, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.

I started building my website in 1996. Back then, dial-up internet access was all we had so everything took way longer to build, upload & operate a website. It took until 1999 to fully flesh it out and begin making a name for myself. As soon as I felt like I was on the right path, Sept 11th happened in NYC and I thought for sure that I would go out of business but the opposite happened. Because everyone was so unsure about the world, making decisions or moving forward with any hope at all that my business actually doubled because more people wanted an alternative perspective to what was happening and since cycles & patterns are my specialty, I was able to guide & support others with another way to take their power back and start making decisions again.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I got my first personal computer and started working from home when I got pregnant in 1996. By 2003, I started claiming that I am an “astrologer” and that my admin job was my side-hustle and by 2005, it was true.

I have been specializing in Shamanic Astrology which is rooted in cycles & patterns, including personal, social & collective cycles that affect everyone. I teach that there are many planetary cycles that coincide with natural life cycles which allow us to co-create in mystical, as well as practical ways. I am also a certified Earth Medicine Practitioner dedicated to creating Sacred Space & Custom Tools that support the individual’s lifelong journey of Self-Healing, Ongoing Education & Transformational Soul Work. I also specialize in Grief Protocols and Ancestor Reverence Work.

As an Earth Medicine Practitioner and Mystic Mentor, I provide customized tools, practices and support for other healers, artists, athletes, activists and conscious leaders to do their own soul work, personal healing & expand their education.

I believe in improvement over perfection, finding the blessings and lessons in any life challenge, and showing up to do my soul work even when I’d rather delay, deny or detour.

I create sacred space. Folks need sanctuary to heal, learn, change and know themselves better. I work with mostly women (and some brave men) individually through mentorship and communally through monthly circles online and in-person, around the world.

I specialize in cycles and patterns. Awareness and conscious action make transformation possible. I provide custom tools, guidance and support to bring you into harmony with your own individual cycles and Nature’s rhythms.

I help you cultivate & fortify relationships with your angels, ancestors, orisha and spirit guides. We are never alone. I will help you learn how to communicate with your invisible support team.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

Rather than a specific incident, I would like to share the general value of being able to “pivot” in business when it is necessary. I started out trying to be all things to all people, offering many variations on my offerings, which just wears you out and causes others to have a hard time choosing a service if there are too many options. So the first big pivot I remember was deciding to pare it down to three main things I do (Readings, Live Circles & Subscriptions). Then I went through a time, in the beginning, where I did not want to use the astrological language, I kept it general “energies & cycles” which on one hand, was beautiful because it brought in people who would normally avoid anything esoteric or religious folks who think astrology is evil both learned that there is more depth & value to working with the sky patterns and earthly seasons. However, on the other hand, it was still misleading because I love the astrological language and it is the science behind my work so not to use it felt wrong. The most recent pivot that I had to make was bringing my website up-to-date so that it works on phones. So my ultimate point is don’t be afraid to pivot in business because it usually leads to more authenticity & integrity and releases you from self-imposed limitations. When you stay true to your own vision and do what you are passionate about (like I am for cycles & patterns), then you are more magnetic and can/will attract the right clientele to you organically.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

I have found that word-of-mouth, collaborating & cross-pollination have been the most effective strategies for bringing in or increasing quality clientele that is interested in my offerings. I am able to teach about cycles & patterns with any other healing or educational modality so working with others in different fields has been enlightening, educational & rewarding. It is helpful to find others who complement your energy and teaching style or that are somehow adjacent to what you do. The example I often use is for artist-types to collaborate with business-types – I encourage people to choose to collaborate with someone that is appropriately different from you so that what you create together is unique, special & found nowhere else. Everyone feels valued, everyone’s clientele improves or increases and everyone learns from each other along the way.
