We were lucky to catch up with Kelly Barnhart recently and have shared our conversation below.

Kelly, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

When my daughter was little, my parenting guidepost was, “What will enhance her vibrance?” That word has the elements of all of what matters to me—health, wellbeing, beauty, peace, happiness, frequency, vibration, elevation, consciousness, and magic. I built the restaurant as an extension of that way of raising my daughter and creating something for the world I wanted for her. There was no other word it could have been!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I built Vibrant as a reaction to my own desire for delicious sophisticated incredibly conscious food that is too complicated to create for myself. I am the most proud of the incredible team I have who are deeply aligned with the same things I care about creating in the world. It is our sincere delight and pleasure to take incredible care in creating what will delight and make people feel good. I want people to know that we make everything from scratch, with the absolute best ingredients with the highest benefit to your wellbeing possible, and so much intention and love!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

I had the most amazing job I could have imagined, as an assistant curator at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. I got pregnant and freaked out and quit. I knew that was a career path unaligned to motherhood. Luckily, my reactivity was wise, as that created the space to meditate and incubate Vibrant from that space.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?

What we do inherently fosters loyalty. It is such an authentic offering from love, that our customers naturally reflect that love and are fiercely loyal naturally. We occasionally post a pretty picture on Instagram and share any news there.
