We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kellsee Mueller a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kellsee , thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
To be a successful small cookie business owner, it takes a blend of passion, quality, and smart planning. You need to create unique, high-quality cookies that stand out and consistently delight your customers. Building a strong brand identity, engaging effectively with customers both online and locally, and providing exceptional customer service are crucial. Efficient operations, good financial management, and the ability to adapt to market changes are also essential. Ultimately, success comes from my genuine love for baking and a commitment to delivering the best possible product and experience to my customers.

Kellsee , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been a combination of leveraging social media, participating in local events, and focusing on exceptional customer service and creating a high quality product that truly sells itself.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook have been instrumental in reaching a wider audience. By posting high-quality photos of our cookies, sharing behind-the-scenes content, and engaging with our followers through stories and comments, we’ve been able to create a strong online presence. Also attending farmers’ markets, fairs, and community events has been a fantastic way to showcase our cookies and connect with local customers. These events provide an opportunity for people to taste our cookies, learn about our brand, and make purchases on the spot. The face-to-face interactions help build trust and a sense of community and lastly word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied customers have also been incredibly valuable.
