We recently connected with Kelli White and have shared our conversation below.
Kelli, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
Shortly after the pandemic, I began to realize that the role I was playing in healthcare was not one I was proud of. We had gone from healthcare hero, to misinformation and distrust. I began to re-examine the providers I worked with and the unethical practices I was no longer willing to turn a blind eye from.
My mental health was suffering. I could no longer make excuses for the lack of empathy and compassionate care that I witnessed on a daily basis. I refused to be a part of it any longer.
So, I left hospital based medicine, and started working from home. I learned all I could about telehealth and then created Chari Health, PLLC.
I became certified in Functional Medicine and pride myself in spending time with my patients, sorting out their needs and creating a plan that best suits them.
I listen. I work alongside them toward a healthcare goal.
I no longer participate in a “pill for an ill” mentality.
I help people learn how to listen to their bodies and truly feel better!

Kelli, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner. I offer telehealth services in 22 states covering everything from acute care/sick visits to in depth health topics that require a deep dive into a patient’s past and current medical needs.
I offer a more comprehensive approach to healthcare including DUTCH test, GI Mapping, full blood panels and a discussion of results.
Women’s health is my passion. As I am peri-menopausal myself, I have come to embrace a very challenging time in women’s lives and welcome those who need a refuge to learn their bodies and how to deal with this time as well.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Resilience. Knowing when to seek help for yourself. Resting when your body needs it.
A good support system.

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
If I could go back, I would go into primary care right away and begin private practice. I would skip working for a hospital based system and push myself to gain the certifications I have now.
I feel I have more knowledge and help others/myself more NOW than I ever have. I wish I had been doing this part of my career longer.
