We recently connected with Kelley Bell and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kelley, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
As a daughter of God, wife, mother, and educator, I experienced the challenges of operating in all those roles, finding the right balance, and feeling effective in those roles while also learning to enjoy life. So I started a journey with God, counseling, reading books, and being intentional in doing the work to find the right balance needed. Learning how to be heroic as a woman, be empowered in all of my roles and responsibilities, and be resilient to the challenges that come with living life. As I noticed I began to get a handle on everything, I realized it is possible to do everything on my plate with excellence!
So being the giving person that I am, I wanted to help other women navigate these roles in their lives, so I started my business. I didn’t have anyone to show me how to do it all, and growing up in the church, many times, women would tell me to pray and trust God, but I knew I had to combine my faith and works to get to my desired results. I knew I wasn’t the only woman who didn’t have anyone to teach them how to manage everything, so as I stated, as I learned how to do it, I wanted to teach other women HOW to do it; to give them practical and attainable steps. I have seen other women in my field who do similar work, but I do believe I bring another perspective to the field. My business doesn’t focus on one area as a woman, but all: as an entrepreneur, a career woman (because I still work in my career), a wife, a mother of 4 boys, and an active leader at my local church. Don’t forget I also am a daughter, sister, friend, and mentor!

Kelley, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
So a little about me. I’m originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but currently in Florida. I am married to my college sweetheart, who I met at the greatest HBCU Alabama A&M University (lol), mother of 4 amazing boys, Family Consultant, Certified Life Coach, Elder, Praise and Worship Leader, and Educator. Whew… it sounds like a lot even when I type it!
I teach individuals how to navigate their journey of Kingdom Purpose by redefining their identity in Christ and aligning their life’s purpose according to God’s original intent.
I teach wives and wives-to-be how to combine biblical principles and practical relationship skills to create a thriving marriage.
I teach mothers how to simplify and overcome the challenges of motherhood.
I know that individuals from every socioeconomic level need assistance in the areas listed above, so with that in mind, I have created many products and services to meet the needs of people wherever they are.
I host a podcast entitled Pursue HER, being Heroic, Empowered, and Resilient, where listeners can learn practical strategies to implement in their journey of marriage and motherhood.
I have created a marriage curriculum entitled God’s Marriage or My Marriage. This curriculum includes a book published in English and Spanish that incorporates self-reflective questions where women can create a plan to work on themselves based on the needs of their marriage. The curriculum includes an online course that is very direct and straight to the point, as I know women are busy and don’t have much time to spare, which also includes steps and worksheets to create a plan to work on themselves in their marriage. I recently made a two-part Leader’s Guide, which equips other women with tools to help other women, including small group lesson plans to guide women in a more in-depth way to work on themselves within their marriages.
For moms, I have created a guide titled Raising Kingdom-Minded Children, which teaches mothers how to raise Kingdom-Minded Children. This easy-read provides mothers with a self-reflective quiz, which, based on your score, guides them through the process of how to excel in what I have called the 5 Pillars of Motherhood.
My most recent project is a campaign entitled Cover Our Schools. This campaign aims to restore our communities through church and school partnerships. Churches are to be a positive influence in their communities. This campaign provides churches with the steps needed to cover their local schools in prayer while also providing ways in which church members can volunteer and donate resources to their local schools. While this campaign focuses on church and school partnerships, churches are not to partner with schools with the intent to build their church membership, and they should not try to convert people to their religion. I am simply asking for churches to represent the love of Christ to those around them, as our schools need a lot of support and resources.
My business also provides one-on-one coaching and group coaching (coming soon). In addition, I facilitate workshops and am available for speaker opportunities.
Life is challenging, and too many people go through it alone and do not know where to go for support. No one should have to face life’s challenges alone, so I want to provide hope and practical steps to help individuals wherever they are in their journey in life.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
At this point in my business, I would have to say my most effective strategy for growing clientele is through referrals. The clients I have had that have made the most remarkable transformations in their lives, whether through coaching or applying the steps outlined in my resources, all came from referrals. I’m big on building relationships and taking time with people. So many things in our society are reverting to less personal contact. When we call customer service numbers, there is an automated response, we notice it when we go to the grocery store, and there is an increase in self-checkout lines. I am focused on having as much personal contact with clients as possible. That’s how you show people you care and are invested in their growth.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
The books that have had some of the most significant impacts on my approach to business and working with people, in general, are John Maxwell’s books. He provides practical strategies that are reasonably attainable, and he effectively lays out what’s needed to maximize your full potential as a business owner.
