We were lucky to catch up with Keldric Delton recently and have shared our conversation below.
Keldric, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
I typically run loyalty deals for my regulars. This one instance I had acquired a new customer who had a daughter with autism. She drove the child back and forth to and from her doctor appointments meanwhile the entire time her vehicle had no A/C. To cut the story short I sponsored all the labor for the entire job free of charge so that she could be able to continue to be able to take her little one anywhere she needed to go WITH A/C.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I started in this industry from the ground up to where I am now. No I don’t know everything because the industry grows every day. I have such a passion for what I do it’s ridiculous. I’m proud of myself for setting goals and a plan and sticking to it without even knowing. I’ve come so far and grown so much from a Walmart tool box and tool set to some of the most top well know brands of tools there is. Being able to put a smile on my customers face and have them not worry about breaking down is why I do what I do. I started this journey with literally nothing and have worked my way up the ladder one tool at a time and one car at a time. I see my future right beyond me and it looks very bright and stout.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
Before I started my business I was already a mechanic so buying tools was already a regular thing for me. Half of doing what I do is obtaining the correct tools to complete any jobs I am trying to complete in a timely fashion. With that being said, my overhead was already at a minimum and it was easy to be able to save the money to rent out my shop, buy security set up, get a sign made, add a second phone line for business and start marketing.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being honest and able to make sure my customers are always taken care of would be the top qualities that helped me grow my reputation amongst word of mouth. I’m a genuine person and very honest so it all comes natural.
