We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kelcee Harwood. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kelcee below.
Hi Kelcee, thanks for joining us today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
I am so blessed to be able to make my passion a full-time job. Could not have made it to where I am without the support of my family, friends and my incredible Fiancé!
It honestly all starts with drive and networking and trying to meet the right people. Once you have one important person’s attention then it all kind of falls into place after that. Now, with that being said not all days are a breeze + you are going to hear a lot of “no’s”…but don’t let that discourage you.
Learning the art of following up and putting myself out there even more I think would have helped me early in my career but I know I am right where I need to be.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Well, it all started in high school for me. I took a trip to New York my sophomore year, asked my dad for a camera because I knew the people & architecture in New York was unique and different from Texas.
Kind of just started out shooting my family members, as it progressed people started to compliment me on my unique “eye.”
I was very involved in sports, so when I got injured and couldn’t play anymore I decided if I can’t play, why not photograph it? Just being surrounded by an environment you love, everything just clicks.
I jokingly call myself a unicorn because I don’t want to just be known as the sports photographer, I capture all sorts of things. I have been able to take aspect from sports photography and apply it to when I capture family’s or weddings. I love the uncertainty of what I will capture, spontaneity is what makes a photo great.
After getting the hang of photography, I wanted to tackle something else. I started getting into videography about 2 years ago and love learning and working on my craft.
I always want my clients to know they have creative say in whatever project we are working on, they are the customer and I always want them walking away happy…its about them, not you!
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I have a lot of goals but my biggest goal is to go on tour with Justin Timberlake…his energy and the way he treats his people is something I want to be apart of and capture! Overall, I just want to keep striving to be the best, I love learning new things and want to keep evolving.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice
NFT’s go way above my head when trying to understand them haha but I have been trying to read up on them and be more involved with creating them. I think photo/video will be the next big thing in NFT’s and I would love to start selling my work through that medium!
