Hi Ke’lan , thanks for joining us today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
The best thing I have seen is a customer tell me how much of an impact I have had on their life. To know that you can help someone you don’t know personally really hits you different and I appreciate them so much cause without those customers that support your business can’t really thrive.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Well my name is Ke’lan Johnson but I am better known as TazDaRealist I am a recording artist and partner of teddituesdaypod. So not only am I in the industry I also help other underground artist in the industry as well when it comes to exposure , promotion, sometimes artist development and more and if I can’t get the job done I can garuntee I have someone that’s up for the task. I’m just here to connect as many people as possible we all have a dream or a goal we want to reach if I can assist in anyway then I’m there. I think people fail to realize that yes you can be independent but it’s better when you have a team behind you that genuinely wants to see you win !
How’d you meet your business partner?
I met my business partner over 10 years ago when I first started music her name is DJteddi and she’s like the hottest female DJ she ended up hosting a mixtape of mines and it did a few numbers if you remember datpiff then you know how far back I’m talking . Moving forward last year I came across her in houston with her podcast and decided to link up she saw the passion I had for my music and helping others and my promotion she saw something i me I actually forgot I had and since then I became a partner and she’s definitely a great mentor !
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I would say my biggest lesson learned was everybody can’t go with you . Sometimes we always want to give our friend or family a job cause we are all we got but I had to learn that if a person is not motivated to do better it’s nothing you can do to change that. Sometimes it’s better to keep family and friends and business separate
