We recently connected with Keivonyea Blackmon and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Keivonyea thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. The first dollar you earn in a new endeavor is always special. We’d love to hear about how you got your first client that wasn’t a friend or family.
The way I had gotten my first client was by force lol. My sister actually was my first client with her company “The Juu’c”. She really helped push me to start my Branding career & I am so grateful that she did. She had actually started her company but then needed help shaping and really putting everything together, from website to social media management. And that is how Keivonyea’s Branding really took off!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a Branding Manager, and that consists of a lot of different hats. I do everything from helping design and/or revamp your business, create websites, social media management, and image reconstructing for models. My work is non stop & you never know what to expect WHICH IS WHAT I LOVE! A few things that I have been proud about is when my clients tell me that their sales have increased or they love a design that I have made. Something that really sets me apart is I am personable with my clients & I cater to their needs. I take a look at your business, model portfolio, artist portfolio and I customize a plan to help you get to where you want to be.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The goal that is really driving me is my kids. I know it may sounds “cliche” but they really are. Being able to create this path for them is a one in a million feeling. My goal is to create a legacy for them and their great great great great grandchildren. They really are my why. Letting them know that you can pave your own way to happiness, that it is ok to go against the grain.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy is to be consistent & transparent. Knowing that while I am partnering with someone I am not only making a business move but I am also building a relationship with them. Knowing where they want to be, hearing their passion about their company that they have created. Knowing that & then applying it. That is honestly the e effective way
