We caught up with the brilliant and insightful KeithKNOWS a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
KeithKNOWS, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I think creativity chose me before I even knew what to call it. Growing up, I was always that person organizing something—sketching, writing, bringing people together around ideas, music, or art. But the real turning point came in high school, when I pulled together a small community event celebrating local Black artists and musicians.
It started as a simple idea, but that night became something special. The room was full of energy—people connecting, vibing, being seen and celebrated. I remember standing there thinking, this is it… this is what I’m supposed to do. That moment made it clear that creativity isn’t just about art—it’s about community, culture, and connection.
Since then, every project, every event, every conversation has been about that same spark—using creativity to inform, inspire, and uplift. That’s what keeps me going, and that’s really the heart of KeithKNOWS: connecting people through culture and creative expression.

KeithKNOWS, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Keith, the creator of KeithKNOWS.net, a cultural and community hub connecting people through art, creativity, and culture. What started as a simple way to share local events has grown into a trusted platform spotlighting artists, organizations, and experiences that inspire and uplift.
My work blends creativity and community — from promoting cultural happenings to curating connections that celebrate diversity and expression. What sets KeithKNOWS apart is authenticity; everything I share is rooted in purpose and people.
I’m most proud that KeithKNOWS has become a trusted source — a space where folks know they’ll discover something meaningful, inspiring, and worth supporting. At the end of the day, it’s all about building community through creativity and connection.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I built my audience by sharing what I genuinely love — local art, culture, and community events. It wasn’t about numbers; it was about connection. Over time, people started to trust my voice and knew that if KeithKNOWS shared it, it was something real and worth checking out.
My advice: be authentic and consistent. Don’t chase trends — share what inspires you and supports others. Focus on building community, not just followers. When your purpose is clear, the right audience will naturally find you.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding part is seeing how creativity connects people. When something I share, write, or organize inspires someone, brings them joy, or helps them discover something new — that’s everything. Creativity has the power to build community and spark understanding, and being part of that process keeps me motivated and grateful every day.
