We recently connected with Keith Thomas and have shared our conversation below.
Keith, appreciate you joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
Leaving corporate America is not an easy task. I found myself in a management position after college working for a Fortune 100 company. I was making good money, but was not happy or fulfilled at all. I began to feel like I was making someone else’s dream come true by working 80 hours a week. I discovered that if I invested this time into myself I could be extremely successful.
After working 11 years in corporate America I finally did it. I took the risk stepped out on faith and became a full time entrepreneur. It was one of the best decisions I could have ever made. The first few years were tough, but I was determined to succeed. Now it has been 12 years, and I’m so glad I took the risk. I get to wake up and live my dreams!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
For many years I composed music for independent, mainstream platinum selling artist, Television and Radio. I transitioned to being a DJ because of my business partner and artist I produced for named Roderick “Blessed Wun” Brinson. He in the early 2000’s was an amazing rapper that began to tour, and perform shows. At the time he did not have a DJ. So I had the bright Idea that I would be his DJ. I purchased some equipment, we began doing shows and the opportunity awarded me a successful DJ company.
I am the owner of All Star DJ Company. We provide DJ, hosting, lighting, equipment rental and many other entertainment services in the metro Atlanta area and it’s outskirts. We also offer traveling, radio and touring DJ’s. Whether it’s a wedding, corporate event, School event etc. Our amazing DJ’s strive to create an enjoyable and memorable experience by applying the highest standards of excellence to every opportunity we are awarded.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
My effective strategy for growing my clientele has been something that every business can and should do. Provide second to none quality service, pair that with great customer service, swift responsiveness, and execution of what they hired you for, and you now have a happy client. Happy clients will tell other potential clients how well you did. My referrals from previous clients work ten times better than any ad I’ve ever ran or boosted. Remember to be better than great at what you do, and you will grow!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Word of mouth has been the number one source of building my reputation. Social media is the runner up and posting on social media is very important. My company post multiple times throughout the week for engagement with fans and potential clients.
