We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Keith Lord a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Keith thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you take vacations? Why or why not?

I do take vacations, but they are always surrounded by food, food culture and where the next meal will be. Breakfast topics in a cafe are always about where lunch and dinner going to be, which market to go to, what Chef to see or say hi to. These are the reasons I have curry stains on my passport and I’m totally ok with explaining that to the TSA Agent every time.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?

Listening, teaching, breaking barriers together and always, always ensuring every member of the team understands exactly what we are doing and why. Even if that information does not directly affect each team member. The empowerment in knowing leads to a more cohesive team and greater buy in of the bigger goals.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Always questioning why, and why not. Always reaching for what’s next. Constantly pushing creative boundaries while being collaborative and inclusive of my team.
