We were lucky to catch up with Keisha Nelson recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Keisha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about a time you helped a customer really get an amazing result through their work with you.

I had a first time client come to me , to provide hair services to her. On the day of her appointment. She was extremely impressed on how , I was at my salon before her. ( which she knows things tend to happen). But she love the fact how I had a 10 mins consultation. So I would know what she wanted and didn’t want. During her services, I asked was she okay , or comfortable etc. ( She explained how she didn’t see much of that at other salons she had went to in the past. Over all she was super excited and very impressed of how this appointment went and she explained she would return. She left happy and satisfied.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’m the proud owner of CeeCee’s Creation LLC. I’ve been a hairstylist since 2005. I named my business after my two daughter’s. They push me to do better and make the salon a satisfaction to my clients. I got into this business by always wanting to do someone’s hair when I was younger. I keep myself positive away mentally. Staying prayed up and I make sure I have time for myself and for my girl’s. Work life balance is a must. The services that I provide are anything to do with COLOR…. LOL I LOVE .LOVE COLOR. Keratin Treatments, Silk Press to name a few. For my new clients , they call me …well all my clients call me the “Miss Fix it.Cause any problem they bring to me ….. I sure can fix it. LOL. Im most proud of me still being open. Even more so during Covid. Some small business had to shut down. I’m so Thankful and Humble to still be open and Thriving .

How did you build your audience on social media?

How I builded my my audience on social media? By having people that I’ve know for along time or a short time .I had them share my work on what I posted and ….I shared on different pages that social media had out there on different platforms forms.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

A certain journey that sticks out the most that illustrates my resilience would be …… when I had to take time off my job.( corporation job) and you only allowed a certain amount of time off or leaving early..etc….. When I got that …… ( WELL Moment). I knew I needed to take control over my career and make it able for me to do what I needed to do for both my girl’s. So that’s when I Dec to open my own business. Best choice I’ve made .
