We were lucky to catch up with Keilla Spencer recently and have shared our conversation below.
Keilla , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
It’s crazy to sit here and really think how did it start without knowing where to begin. I knew when I was in middle school that I wanted better for myself and I wanted to endeavor something for my family one day. I’m all about creating generational wealth and breaking generational curses.
Having a journal and writing daily was not an option but it was a desire that came with me. Fashion came into play when I was in 8th grade. And when I entered High School I really took it serious. I took courses about fashion all four years of high school. I created a corset top out of filing folders, rubber bands and paperclips and glitter. I love the creativity behind fashion being yourself and coming up with unique statements that speak for itself. I’ve put together a fashion show called “A Night in Paris” for my high school with a group of girls that were in my fashion class. We were honored to have a few clothing stores sponsor us and models to try on their clothes for our fashion show. The fashion show turnt out really nice and we had a nice large crowd!
After I graduated high school I knew working for someone else long terms was not in my plans. I created my first stepping stone “StyleonUnique Studio” in 2015. The name is exactly how it’s said. “Unique” is actually my middle name (fun fact about me) haha! And “Styleon” just flowed and I looked at it as it’s saying “StyleonUnique” as in like go head girl style on them. Lol if that makes sense.
From 2015 leading up to now I’ve had a lot of obstacles and trials along the way. But I’ve stood the test of faith and have learnt a lot in the process. Being that I just launched my website early in May this year it still has space to grow and to expand for me and my viewers and that’s what I’m excited about honestly. I put in a lot of time, and creativity for how I wanted it to be viewed.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hello everyone, my name is Keilla Spencer. I am the Creator/Ceo of “StyleonUnique Studio” as a lifestyle blogger. And I am also a licensed realtor in Missouri & Kansas. And a Notary Public for Missouri.
I’ll tag the link below from my interview last year with VoyageKC. That’ll give a little more depth about how I got started in Real Estate last year! I just recently got my certificate as a Notary Public this year, so kudos to me!!!!!!!
But I would like to give you guys more insight about “StyleonUnique Studio” and how I got started and when I launched my website.
I’ve always had a passion for writing. It was my outlet to express my thoughts and feelings when I was a kid.
As I got older social media became my influence. I was amazed at how bloggers/public figures felt so free to express their thoughts and creativity for fashion. That’s when “StyleonUnique Studio” came into play in 2015 on Instagram!
I started creating clothing looks on a website called Polyvore which is now SSENSE. I would go through all of the listed designers and put together a lookbook of different styles based on what I would wear and how I would dress someone that needed help.
Later on down the road, I decided I wanted a website built where people can get the best of both worlds. Fashion, blogging, and my lifestyle journey.
Fast forward, on May 7, 2023 I launched my website all over social media. And to my friends, and family. It was the most exciting emotional feeling ever!
I am just like any other human being that has a dream, or goal(s) and wants to see it unfold in front of them. So that right there puts me next to anyone else that’s working hard, creating a system for their dreams to come true. What sets me apart is my flaws being originated into my blog as I go through my journey. None of us are perfect. And when I say flaws I’m not talking about the egotistical flaws. Flaws where you can be yourself. I Forgot to iron my shirt but I still uploaded the picture of me in the shirt anyway, or I didn’t turn the camera off after I was done recording, or I shared too much information with you guys that you probably didn’t want to hear lol you know things to that nature.
I will be adding a service tab for wardrobe styling & organizing closets soon! As a blogger and someone who loves fashion my ultimate goal is to inspire others alongside me while I share my passion and express who I am and what I’m still becoming!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I think the most rewarding part about being a creator is being my authentic self! if ideas of high quality and originality are my reasons to keep going and feeding my viewers I believe I will always succeed.
Being open, and honest and allowing my viewers to see me at my good & bad is the uniqueness part about it. They get to build a connection with me because it’s like they’re with me physically. I believe that’s what any subscriber, follower, or audience wants when they see your content. They want to feel like they are part of your life journey.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
This is a good question!
Honestly I have quite a bit of goals set on my list just like anybody. I believe it’s the system that keeps me or anybody driven. Without any system put in tact to succeed the goal is dead. I believe to achieve any goal you have to have an effective system. You have to decide what you want to achieve, and WHY. Once you have that mastered changing your habit to work towards that will improve over time. And you’ll be able to see your mission blossom.
So to answer your question YES I have goals. And my mission is the system I’ve created and written down on paper to manifest them before my eyes. My biggest one is WHY am I doing this, WHY do I want this goal(s)? The “WHY” factor plays an important part because sometimes we get lost and just wanting the feeling. But I had to ask myself WHY do I want this goal(s) and how, and what is it going to do to help me in the long run by setting up a system for myself longevity. So chasing my WHY is driving my creative journey to keep going!!!!!!
“Goals are about the results you want to achieve. Systems are bout the process that lead to those results.” – Scott Adams
