Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Keilah Meikle. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Keilah, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

My mission/journey truly is a gift from Jesus himself. Growing up, I would play in my mother’s makeup, do family nails, lashes, and just about anything in the beauty realm because it feels like such fresh air to me. This is not just a passion but truly what it’s like to walk in alignment with God and to follow your visions, goals, and aspirations. I first took time away from my true goal because I wanted to at least go to school, get my college degree, and then have it under my belt in my life. After I got my degree, I went straight to beauty school and started right away in my dreams which then came to a reality. My husband truly pushed me as well and always motivates me and allows me to be challenged, and I love that because it really helped me get here. I also found a church called Crossover in Tampa and met Pastor Tommy along with so many great people, who have now become friends and family to me. Which truly helped me to follow this path more because of how much my Pastor would talk about letting God steer your life, and from then on, I started reading my Bible more and truly finding out what my identity was and how I should live in alignment with God. My choices in my life were not always aligned, so really learning for myself and finding out about who I truly am. Led me to being this Jack of all trades.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I would love to say that I am a Jack of all trades. My focus is Nails and Makeup primarily. I also currently am working towards doing waxing, lashes, and brow tinting. I want to be a one-stop shop for everyone. I am proud of how far I have come. Doing nails was not easy, and to anyone who thinks it is easy definitely try again. It is no joke, and I am so proud of how far I have come. Makeup as well I grew into doing such great work, and it really has grown and showed forth in my work daily. What sets me apart is being genuine, showing my clients that they are beautiful inside and out. Showing I can be trusted. Putting their needs above my own. It is not just a business where you do half work. You need to give it your best every time.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

The best source for new clients is word of mouth, social media, building business cards, and creating a brand for yourself. I think when you put all of these together it makes you stand out and helps you really showcase who you are and that you are about your clients and most importantly your business.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

I had to unlearn that not everybody is for you on your journey and that you have to be willing to listen to Gods’ voice to really see what He has in store for you. Financially you have to save money, build, and be strong to be an entrepreneur. Other struggles that I had to deal with and unlearn are just staying focused and knowing that what is for you will be for you. Not to compare yourself to anyone. To know that God has a place for you here and that you have a purpose to fulfill. Some days I wanted to just give up and go back to school. To me I feel like that would be to easy for me, however tempting. I have cried, I have felt imperfections. They helped push me even more.
