We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Keila Brintley. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Keila below.
Hi Keila , thanks for joining us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
My cousin told me I should do a podcast. She loved the topics I would come up with for discussion on social media. I laughed at her, but kept the thought on my mind. I started a Book Club with a few ladies. We would discuss the books through a social media forum and when the book was complete, we would meet for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We never discussed the book, even though that was the plan. During one meet up for breakfast I introduced the idea of starting a podcast. My former cohosts Tonya Dixson and Keilani Haralson were on board. We came together and created, “All The Way There Podcast.” We were excited. However, we started to drag our feet with getting started. Keilani asked, “when are we going to get started?” A few months later we did the first three episodes in Keilani’s dining room with her fancy recording equipment. It was fun times. We uploaded the podcast to SoundCloud. In 2020, (when the podcast was birthed) Covid struck. We were all quarantined because the country was shut down. It motivated us to start the podcast LIVE stream through Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. I went on YouTube and watched videos to learn how to start a podcast. Also adding, that I would watch some of my favorite podcast for ideas. April of 2020, we actually launched All The Way There Podcast. I absolutely loved the bond and the fun we had together. Although, I host the podcast alone now, it is still an exciting and fun journey.

Keila , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My podcast is much about healing from the inside out. It is designed to help you transform your life and live out the purpose you were created for. I sincerely believe that we were all created to help someone else. Many of us do not reach that potential for many reasons. I have licensed therapist, doctors, pastors, and people who are able to share their real life experiences with the listeners on my show. I am always encouraged when I get emails that tell me how much the show have helped them. I feel like I’m doing my part in the earth.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
June of 2024, I had to pivot. Keilani left the podcast in 2022 to pursue her movie career. Tonya and I began hosting the podcast together seamlessly. Tonya decided she had to leave to pursue other things, and I panicked. I had never hosted the podcast alone. However, I didn’t feel in my heart that it was time for the podcast to end. So, I decided that I would make it work. In the background I stressed about so many things. Some of the questions I asked myself were, will people still listen? Am I enough to carry this on my own? I was also in school and that created another question, will I be able to dedicate the time needed for the podcast? Those questions had me biting my nails, metaphorically. The first episode that I hosted alone, I had a guest name Napolian Barnes. His show was ironically titled, “The Art of Letting Go”. This show was pre-scheduled 3 months before the transition of me hosting the podcast alone. That blew my mind. I felt as if God was setting me up to comfort me. God knew what was coming. Napolian spoke things to me backstage that I knew had to be God speaking through him. Mr. Barnes was completely unaware of what was going on in the background of the podcast. Neither was he cognizant of the thoughts running wild through my mind. At that point, I decided to continue to move forward without fear or worry. “Keep Going,” has actually become my phrase now. It means so much to me, because when I wanted to lay everything down, God said, KEEP GOING!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe what helped the podcast build its reputation is our integrity and being transparent. No one was afraid to show who they truly were. I also believe my faithful listeners are instrumental in helping our reputation. They share the podcast, comment and engage. I love them for all that they do. The podcast is relatable and we genuinely love people. I love to laugh and I love for people to laugh with me. But, most importantly I want to see people win and I want to see them healed from within. Everyone deserves to live their best life. Even on this journey of hosting the podcast alone, nothing has changed but the number of host. The mission is still the same.
