Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Keep Close. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Keep Close, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I think collectively we’ve all been in music since the age of 11 or 12. Whether it was high school band or just playing with a few friends, all of us have been involved with music in one way or another. Over the years I think it just became a passion and an obsession, now we’re here releasing music together.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As a band we’re relatively new. We all came from other bands, or did song covers on TikTok and YouTube. We also just had so many different friends in the industry already that it was kind of hard not to fall in love with the idea of playing music and releasing it as a collective. Two of us came from a previous band and wanted to do something a bit different. We found our drummer who absolutely crushes everything he does. Super stoked to have him with us.
We met our new vocalist back in November for the first time, and we all went to the studio and tracked some really awesome stuff.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I think really we all just want to make the dream happen. We’ve all talked about where we want to be in 5 years time or 10 years time, and it’s always ‘playing shows.’ Music is a hard habit to break, and for a good reason.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
Something you hear a lot is “that won’t pay the bills.” Which, granted, at the start it won’t. But like mostly everything you do in life, it’s about practice and obsession. I always have said that talent is only a small part of the journey. It’s how you take talent, or skills, and obsessively chase them. Make them better in every way you can.
