Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Keana Brewster . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Keana , appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
The biggest risk I’ve continuously taken has been betting on myself! The level of belief I have in myself has consistently led to me quitting every assignment that did not feel in alignment with my goals and energy. It has not and is not always easy walking away from things that have once served purpose in life however seasons change. The last position I walked away from was the shortest I’ve stayed and was my most paying job ever. It seemed like the perfect Ideal office job yet I still walked away! Just like every job prior my mental wealth and happiness meant So much more to me. Any job that took away from that goal always proved not worthy . The longer I stayed the more I hurt and the more I wanted to put into my own work. with that drive I gladly take the risk of walking away from Things that don’t align with me.

Keana , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a certified yoga instructor and self taught artist. My craft combines the uses of art and yoga to unapologetically express ourselves. I allow my clients to explore what it’s like to create exactly with no boundaries. Art and yoga have been such subtle ways for me to express what I may not have words for. Also to release energy that I may not be aware that I’m carrying. I host public yoga and paint parties as well as private. A few clients have become collectors of the art I’ve created from my own subconscious thoughts. Once a year I open books for commissions but all other services including face painting and private art lessons are available year round. My favorite part is when clients discover the creative expressionist in themselves!
Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
The need to express myself is what drives my journey. My need to be secure in my individuality drives me to create. To tell my side of the story that I don’t always get to share with words. I’m a expressive person and I use everything in me to do that sometimes. That’s why I have yoga to release energy through the physical and art for a mental Release.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
More access and resources to multiple art forms in schools. It’s so many talented kids that simply don’t know their options! When you know better you do better. I think we’d have more genuinely happy adults if so many didn’t have to settle for careers that didn’t fit.
