We were lucky to catch up with Kayma Englund recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Kayma thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Often outsiders look at a successful business and think it became a success overnight. Even media and especially movies love to gloss over nitty, gritty details that went into that middle phase of your business – after you started but before you got to where you are today. In our experience, overnight success is usually the result of years of hard work laying the foundation for success, but unfortunately, it’s exactly this part of the story that most of the media ignores. Can you talk to us about your scaling up story – what are some of the nitty, gritty details folks should know about?

When I first started my business 14 years ago I was renting out small offices for my Reiki Practice. I promoted myself by hanging up flyers around my Brooklyn neighborhood and relying on word of mouth.

Over the course of the next 10 years this business grew into a full blown Metaphysical Healing Center in Southern California complete with a fully stocked Crystal Shop, Educational Classes and an ever-evolving Energetic Healing Practice.

Then, right before Covid hit I was struck with a strong intuition that it was time for something new – and time for something more. Even though I was wildly attached to my brick and mortar, all signs were pointing towards moving my business into the online space. So, I listened – with zero logical proof – and made the leap.

While I knew I was on the right path, I was not prepared for how different ~ or challenging it would be to conduct my business virtually. Even though I had years of experience – a degree in Business Marketing and running a Metaphysical Healing Center – virtual business was a whole different animal.

I had little awareness of strategy and realized quickly that I was wearing too many hats – from energy healer to crystal shop owner, and now, social media content creator – each of which with their own full time duties.

It was clear this was not a sustainable business model and certainly not one that would lead to the greater impact I knew in my heart I was here to make.

Luckily, after some major confusion and overwhelm, a huge breakthrough happened when I started looking at growing my business through the same intuitive and energetic lens that I do my client sessions. This allowed me to easily see the energy leaks in my business and release the areas of my business that were no longer lucrative or lighting me up.

I also realized that even though my conscious mind was so devoted to growing and elevating my impact online, my subconscious mind was filled with outdated fears and limiting beliefs that were straight up blocking my success. Further, I noticed that the more time I gave to honoring my feelings throughout the day and caring for my energy behind the scenes, the number of clients I was attracting began to naturally increase and uplevel.

My mind was blown! Not to mention, what I learned in 4 years getting a degree in Business Marketing didn’t touch the impact and success I experienced when I actually integrated energy and intuition into my business. I even allowed my intuition to craft a sustainable business strategy and lead how I create, launch and sell all of my courses and offerings.

This eventually allowed me to uplevel my 1:1 single sessions to longer term, high-ticket courses and coaching containers. To where I am now able to support other spiritually-inclined business owners grow their business and generate greater income in a way that is 100% in alignment with their Soul. Plus, they get to receive the bonus of the intuitive insight and energetic healing needed behind the scenes. Which, through my experience, is the real secret to business growth that a business plan solely focused on strategy will always miss.

Even after 14 years I feel this is only the beginning and am endlessly excited for the growth that is yet to come. I feel there is a new paradigm of business rising where our work can truly be a source for not only personal fulfillment but a miraculous and positive change on Planet Earth. One that truly highlights the co-creational experience that we’re all part of and what’s possible when we move beyond our perceived limits, follow our visions and manifest the life of our dreams.

Kayma, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I started running my business 14 years ago and it has evolved in beautiful ways. I started focusing primarily on Intuitive Energy Healing and Spiritual Counseling and it has now expanded into helping spiritual entrepreneurs grow and scale their own thriving conscious business.

This includes helping my clients heal their relationship with money, gain confidence when selling and showing up online, clear limiting blocks and patterns that are keeping them from the life and business they truly desire and strengthening their inner trust and intuition. This is a new paradigm of business that I feel is essential especially amidst our current collective awakening,

What sets me apart from most is that I have the ability to work in both the physical and non-physical realms. I have natural psychic abilities that allow me to identify the root cause of any block or issue that is coming up in my client’s life or business – and how to clear it for good. Plus, I am able to channel direct wisdom and guidance from my client’s Higher Self and Spirit Guides which ensures that all action steps are aligned with their Soul.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I started building my social media from scratch just over two years ago and I have learned so much along the way. My greatest advice for those starting to build their online community is as follows… 1. Be yourself! Your authenticity, quirks and what makes you unique are your greatest magnetism. 2, Stay in your own lane, While it can be easy to get caught up scrolling to see what other business owners and influencers are doing, comparing and trying to apply what’s working for others will always end up draining your precious energy 3. It’s totally normal to feel weird and awkward at first. People always ask me how I am so confident and I promise this did not come naturally! I kept showing up and it got easier over time. Also, be mindful to support and encourage yourself rather than judge or get caught up in vanity metrics, 4. Consistency. This doesn’t mean you have to show up and create content every single day, it means create a schedule that aligns with you and honor it. This will help to build trust with your community and creates the momentum for sustainable growth 5. Remind yourself daily of the big reason why you are showing up to build your community and the beautiful being you are here to serve. This will help keep you connected to your intentions and the greater impact of your social media account

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

Just like my social media… I started funding my business from scratch. I am sharing this because it taught me so much about money and the value of investment, which can certainly be scary in the beginning. As my business started generating revenue I would always be sure to invest a portion of that money back into my business. This has looked differently over the years, but I would certainly say investing in coaches and mentors who align with my values, just like I do now for others, has been such a huge catalyst for growth.
