We were lucky to catch up with Kaylin Strahan recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kaylin, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been one of the most interesting investments you’ve made – and did you win or lose? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
My best investment would be trusting and believing in myself and the gifts God has blessed with me with. Because I’ve invested so much time and energy in becoming the best version of myself, I’m content with who I am and what I’m able to bring to the table. This means I know my worth and I feel that’s one of the biggest things women need to understand to really build themselves and their brand.

Kaylin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am Kaylin Strahan, a graduating senior studying business at the illustrious Clark Atlanta University, from Chicago, IL. Throughout my time at Clark, I’ve left my mark in various capacities. I served as the Freshman Class President, Captain of the Track and Field Team, and the CAU Liaison for both the Illinois Club and the Morehouse Business Association at Morehouse College. Additionally, I was handpicked to be a board member of the Atlanta Citizen’s Review Board, representing the schools of the Atlanta University Center (AUC). Adding to these achievements, I was honored as the 2021 HBCU Woman Athlete of the Year by HBCU Tour.
In 2021, I was a proud member of AT&T’s Inaugural Rising Future Maker Class, an experience where I connected with numerous inspiring like-minded individuals who continue to motivate me today. A special shoutout to the inaugural class for their support and camaraderie!
Despite my extensive involvement in extracurricular activities, maintaining outstanding grades has always been a priority for me. I’ve consistently upheld a GPA of 3.0 or higher, ensuring that I preserve my scholarships, remain active in extracurriculars, and excel as a student overall. Amidst my busy schedule, I carve out time to create lifestyle and motivational videos, which have resonated well with my social media audience. My passion for content creation and writing traces back to my early years—I wrote my first book at 7-8 years old and began producing videos at 13-14. A high school broadcasting class further fueled my interest, prompting me to delve deeper into the field.
As a published author, my book “Embrace Y.O.U.” explores inspirational themes such as self-awareness, bullying, and suicide. Currently, I’m working on my second book, a project that holds special significance for me as it allows me to connect more openly with readers. I’m eagerly anticipating its release and hope to share it with the world soon. Overall, I take great pride in my personal growth and the evolution of my videos over time.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most fulfilling part of being a creative lies in the feedback I get from those who watch and back my work. While I see myself as a confident young woman, my content creation aims to connect with an audience that can relate to and gain insights from the topics I cover. In my 21 years of life, I’ve accumulated a wealth of experiences, and I’m eager to share my journey so that other young women and individuals can learn from my mistakes, make informed choices, and lead more fulfilling lives. The ultimate satisfaction comes from knowing that someone finds motivation or inspiration in what I create or express.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My objective is to inspire as many individuals as possible through my platform. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have a voice that resonates with people, and it’s important to me that I use it to convey positive and uplifting messages. I also aim to raise awareness about black success and the importance of embracing one’s authentic self without apology. My mother instilled in me the value of treating others with love and respect, just as I would like to be treated. Believing in the idea that everyone deserves a fair opportunity in life, I exert maximum effort to build generational wealth and success. My aspiration is not only to impact the present but also to ensure that future generations have equitable opportunities and access to abundant resources.
