We recently connected with Kayla Yvette and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kayla, thanks for joining us today. Have you signed with an agent or manager? Why or why not?

I am represented by an agency that has helped me secure opportunities and compensations for my creative work. I met one of my agents via instagram dm. They dm me interested in signing me. I thought it was a scam until I did my research on them and saw another model signed to them that I knew. My other agency I am signed with I met them through my old agency. I was introduced to them through my old agent. I decided to work with both agencies because of the booking opportunities, compensation, and connections I’ve made. My agents have decided to work with me because of the diversity of my looks. I bring creativity to any shoot and my confidence stands out the most.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Kayla Yvette. I am 25 years old. I have been modeling about 5 years. I got discovered at a fashion show, after walking I was offered a contract and had an international commercial booking the next week. Everything else has been history. My confidence sets me apart from most. Any room I walk in I feel like I take over. I’m very humble but I also understand what I come with. I am most proud of getting booked with draft kings, rue 21, and puma. I want to do more tv work in the future.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

My only goal and mission was to make my mom proud. When I got into modeling she thought it was just doing photoshoots, never on the level I was on. Her first time seeing me on tv at her house was the most rewarding moment I have ever experienced. I loved seeing my moms reaction to her seeing her daughter on tv.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

Connections are models biggest resources. Whether it is with other models, photographers, even people behind the scenes on set. Collabing with people as a new model helped me out a lot. I stayed with the some photographer who started out with me and we both grew out brand together. I’ve gotten bookings from other creatives on set telling me about opportunities which always led to more opportunities.
