Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kayla Williams. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kayla, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
As an artist, writing music and coming up with pretty melodies has always felt like second nature to me. Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean that I am not constantly learning new techniques everyday. When you find something you love, learning more about it genuinely fuels you and in my case that is how I can work on a song for 4 hours at a time, and not even realize that so much time has gone by. I dedicate countless hours to honing my vocal technique, studying various genres, and working with different vocal coaches because I know that a little bit of progress a day leads to long-term progress which brings me closer to my goals. Over the last year, I’ve encountered challenges and breakthroughs, and each experience has contributed to my growth as an artist. I believe that learning in this field is a continuous process which is what makes the journey so enjoyable.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Kayla Williams, an alternative electronic pop artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. Music has been my passion since I was very young and I owe a lot to my parents for enrolling me in piano lessons at the age of 7. This early commitment to piano greatly influenced the musical abilities I possess today.
It wasn’t until a year ago, around this time, that I truly committed myself to music. This pivotal shift occurred when I crossed paths with a producer, who goes by the name 300it. Meeting him has been a game-changer for me; not only is he an incredible producer, but he has also taught me a lot when it comes to being a new artist.
The type of music I create is quite niche combining several different elements and genres such as electronic music, alternative pop, and occasionally RnB. My lyrics dive into profound emotions, often touching on melancholy themes. I believe in the power of relatability, and I want my music to serve as a comforting embrace for those navigating their way through dark days.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewards aspect of being an artist lies in seeing the impact my music has on people. It’s truly inspiring to read comments from fans expressing what the song means to them, or receiving messages from listeners worldwide of them sharing how a particular track has touched them or provided solace in their moments of solitude.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I think the best way to grow your social media is to find your brand and niche while staying true to and authentic to yourself. Remaining genuine is key, as it will naturally attract an audience that resonates with your authenticity.
