Kayla, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I decided to start The Naked Rose through a combination of personal experience and market research. I’ve always been passionate about using natural ingredients for my own skincare and had seen significant improvements in my skin’s health. This sparked the idea to create a brand that prioritizes clean, natural ingredients. I also conducted extensive research to understand the growing demand for such products and identified gaps in the market. The convergence of my personal passion and market opportunities led to the creation of The Naked Rose.

I am an educator with a background in mental health, and I decided to create a business making all-natural products to empower women to practice self-care. Through my work in mental health, I’ve witnessed the transformative power of self-care in improving overall well-being. I recognized a need for accessible, high-quality self-care products that align with the principles of natural and holistic wellness.
Drawing from my expertise in mental health and education, I designed a range of products that not only nourish the body but also support emotional and mental well-being. These products are carefully crafted to provide a holistic self-care experience, helping women manage stress, anxiety, and promote a sense of balance in their lives.
By combining my knowledge and passion for mental health with the creation of all-natural self-care products, I aim to make self-care a meaningful and sustainable part of every woman’s routine, fostering mental and emotional resilience.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
I started my business in a small and humble way, right in my own kitchen. Initially, I began crafting my all-natural products as a personal project, sharing them with friends and family who encouraged me to pursue it further. As word of mouth spread, I started offering my products to coworkers, who were supportive and eager to try them.
Seeing the positive response and demand growing, I decided to take it more seriously. I researched the market, refined my product offerings, and gradually expanded beyond my kitchen. With determination and hardworking The Naked Rose began to flourish and I eventually moved into a dedicated work space and started selling to a broader customer base. This journey from a small kitchen operation to a successful business is a testament to the power of passion, determination, and the support of those around me.

In the early stages of The Naked Rose, there was a period when sales were disappointingly low. It was a challenging time and doubts often crept in. I refused to let the setback define my business. Instead I turned to creative marketing strategies and engaged with my customers in a more personal way. Instead of just promoting my products, I started educating people on the benefits of all-natural skincare products and build a strong online presence. The exposure led to a sudden surge in interest and sales. Encouraged by this success, I pushed on. As the months passed, The Naked Rose grew a reputation for quality and my customer base grew steadily. My resilience during that challenging time ultimately became a defining factor in the success of The Naked Rose, proving that even in the face of low sales, dedication and a commitment to your vision can lead to remarkable growth and prosperity.
