Kayla, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?

2021 was a complex year for me. I’d like to call it transitional. I was headed toward the end of my pregnancy and the beginning of motherhood, as a country we were still in the mist of COVID-19, and I was also facing the pressure of returning to work and receiving the new vaccine. Some tough decisions were needed to be made for the future. If you know my story you know I’ve always been headfirst into creative, beauty, and fashion industries. All of the pressure I was feeling gave way to new births. Subsequently, I decided to separate from my 9-to-5. Though the thought of losing my security was very scary especially with a new baby on the way I prayed and did not let it detour me. God said to me, “Those who don’t take risk are slow to be rewarded.” That was and has been my security blanket. Since, I’ve relocated to a different city and slowly but surely began to fall back in love with the arts, particularly at this time makeup. It has allowed me to stay consistent and motivated. It’s almost been a year and a half since I took such a big risk; and I have not lacked at all. My business, brand and clientele continue to grow. I am thankful to God for allowing me to push through and be strong as well as an amazing support system. I do not regret a thing.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I’m Kayla Sanders, a self proclaimed renaissance woman with an entrepreneurial spirit. My interest, knowledge, and proficiency spans in more than one field but my current focus is makeup artistry. I am a multifaceted woman and what I don’t know I’m willing to learn. Alumni of The Art Institute of Atlanta with studies in fashion design and merchandising, my time there inspired my range and amplified my desire to work in the creative, beauty, entertainment and fashion industries. Based in the Macon and Atlanta, GA area, the main focus of Kayla Sanders, LLC, the brand is creative direction, fashion styling, beauty, consulting, branding & networking overall. The vision of my brand is to add value to women and men by aiding in confidence and self-worth building through creative experiences and content services. The mission of Kayla Sanders LLC is to connect with various platforms to allow our freedom of expression to be set free and also to become a monetized asset. Kayology— Professional Makeup Services, is an addition to my overall brand. The energy we exude effects everything in our life including our work. Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?

One of my goals for 2023 is to add a supplementary revenue stream such as an ATM(s) or vending machine(s) around success hotspots in Atlanta or anywhere quite frankly. I’ve done my research previously and I also have a great mentor in mind to sharpen my knowledge. I know it is a very lucrative form of passive income.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

My drive has helped build my reputation within my market. Even before I was ever officially an entrepreneur I was always striving for the things that I wanted to do & obtain. I’ve always looked like what I wanted to be in life. I believe that a lot of people have an unspoken knowing that it’s simply just in me and not on me— divine revelation. People definitely have more respect for you and the things you’re doing when it’s genuine.
