We recently connected with Kayla Rose and have shared our conversation below.
Kayla , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been one of the most interesting investments you’ve made – and did you win or lose? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
The most valuable investment you can make is personal and professional development. Investing in yourself you can never go wrong. It will only make you stronger and… at the end of the day, all you got is yourself. Investing in yourself can mean many different things. Going to classes, buying organic food, staying active, drinking tea, and putting a face mask on, the little things in life matter because they all lead to the bigger picture. When you are the best version of yourself you can conquer the world. So invest in yourself and you will grow in all kinds of ways, not only professionally.

Kayla , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started dancing when I was age 3 and never stopped. I knew It was exactly what I wanted to do with my life. I have never felt as amazing and more myself as I do when I dance. It is the language I speak best. I am proud of many things in dance that I have accomplished. But one of my #1 proud moments is booking Royal Caribbean Productions. I was able to get paid to do what I love most (dance) and travel the world while doing it. What more could you want? Well, I did get more… I met the love of my life on the ship and we are happily married today. She was playing trumpet in the orchestra while I was dancing. We both say it was love at first sight.
Another proud moment of mine is graduating from AMDA LA with my BFA in Dance Theater. It pretty much led to my professional career. I signed with Bloc Talent Agency right after college & the rest is history!
I truly believe you can do anything you set your mind to.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Only support artists who stand up for what you believe in. I have never understood supporting someone or something that is completely against your morals.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Don’t ever fit into the “mold.” Take risks!
I was supposed to be a prima ballerina… that was the plan from when I was a little girl. I was always in class or rehearsal while other kids were out playing on the weekends. But honestly, I didn’t mind it I loved dance.
But then I started to take different styles of dance and knew I wanted to break out of the ballerina box. Being a ballerina you have to be extremely disciplined in all areas of life. I always thought of myself as more of a wildcard. I like to do my own thing, my way. Which can be good and bad. Find the balance of it though it can be really beautiful. Growing into your true authentic self. Not fitting into the “mold” you were told to fit into.
Being resilient and not just doing ballet like I was told to do… It has led me to where I am today. Which I am pretty freaking happy! I have the love of my life doing what I love every single day.
