Starting Grandma Honey Childcare has been a journey of faith, resilience, and purpose—one deeply rooted in my personal experiences. My story begins with caring for my special needs sister, which taught me the importance of patience, compassion, and adaptability. It was through this experience that I developed a passion for helping children with unique abilities feel valued, safe, and loved.
In addition to caring for my sister, I accepted a position in elementary education as part of the Exceptional Children Education Services (ECES) department. There, I provided in-class support for a Highly Individualized Program (HIP) student. This role was both challenging and rewarding, as it allowed me to witness firsthand the power of personalized care and educational strategies in helping children thrive.
Balancing caregiving at home, working in education, and launching my own business wasn’t easy. There were moments of doubt and exhaustion, but my passion for serving children and families kept me going. Every step of my journey—from helping my sister, to supporting students in the classroom, to building Grandma Honey Childcare—was preparing me for this mission.
I’m most proud of creating a space where parents, especially those raising children with special needs, can feel peace of mind knowing their little ones are cared for in a nurturing and supportive environment. Whether it’s providing in-home care for a family traveling out of town, offering weekend or holiday support, or simply being there so parents can enjoy a night out, my goal is to make life a little easier and a lot brighter for the families I serve.
