Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kayla Linacre. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kayla, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the best advice you ever gave to a client? How did they benefit / what was the result? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
Best advice I gave a client was 1. Trust me and 2. Start a good medical grade skin care regimen. I had a client come to me to see if I could help her with her acne. She has been seeing a medical professional for years and they had her or an oral medication but her acne still wasn’t clearing up. They told her seeing an aesthetician wouldn’t help improve and also told her to use a wash over the counter. Her first treatment with her I treated her and put her on a medical grade skincare regimen and by her next treatment a month later her acne was 80% clear. She was so happy and feeling a lot more confident in her skin and in herself. She was definitely glowing inside and out. It made me feel so good that I was able to make her feel that.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Kayla Beasley-Linacre was a medical assistant before becoming a licensed aesthetician. I worked within dermatology practices where I fell in love with the cosmetic side of dermatology. I now have been in the industry for over 16 years with a vast knowledge of treating all skin types. I have had the pleasure of starting an aesthetic department within a dermatology practice and rebranded an aesthetic department at a plastic surgeons practice. Kayla has been clinical educator for two cosmetic laser device companies for several years now. She had a daughter before the pandemic, which inspired her to open Art Of Skin. Here at Art of Skin my goal is to have every patient leaving feeling more confident than they did when they walked in. I feel that I’m a different kind of aesthetician, I very honest with my clients, I don’t push services or skincare that you wouldn’t need and I’m very relaxed. Life is hectic enough and hard to do daily task so I advise treatments every two months unless you have specific goals and concerns that would require monthly treatments for a period. Everyone’s skin is different and require different treatments and skincare. I love customizing treatments along with doing multiple modalities in one treatment. I offer a wide variety of medical aesthetic treatments here from Geneo Facial, Virture RF (radio frequency micro needling), chemical peels, Dermaplaning, PRX- Der Perfection, Microneedling, and customized facials. Clients who are first starting to get services to clients who want to shed off some years, I have you covered. Concerns clients come to me with is dullness, oversized pores, acne, pigmentation, anti aging, fine lines and wrinkles, and minimal laxity concerns. The brands I carry are ISDIN Skincare and Societe Skincare both very affordable and affective. I would customize your skincare regimen based of goals you’re wanting to accomplish. I also have financial options if anyone would need that. My motto is “When skin glows, energy flows”.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Being true to yourself. Be your different unique self. I do have a hard time with this myself, I find myself looking at social media at other aesthetic practices and trying to do what they do or start stressing myself out that they’re busier or look to be more successful. But the more I’m true to myself and don’t pay attention to others is when I notice the positive impact it makes on myself and business.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
If I could go back I would still be in the same industry but different position. I would go back and become a physician assistant in dermatology. I love the cosmetic and general dermatology sides of treating the skin.
