Alright, Kayla thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So, let’s start with a hypothetical – what would you change about the educational system?

Well where do I begin the educational system is built for us as individuals to get in a routine of the rat race what is that you may ask? The way of life that people are caught up fiercely competitive struggle for wealth or power. When you think about the educational system what do you do every day you wake up at a certain time you go to lunch at a certain time and you leave at a certain time you’re taught to get good grades but are any of those life skills really used in regular day-to-day life? Now if you’re working a 9 to 5 you may say yes cause you go to work at a certain time you eat lunch at a certain time and you leave at a certain time. Now ask yourself is that really living?! There’s is nothing wrong with that type of lifestyle think if you were living in your purpose. Do something you’re passionate about. Now I know some may say well passion dose not pay the bills, have you ever imagined if madam CJ walker , Coretta Scott King , or even Selena thought that way? there is so much wealth in this world that it is possible to become a success and live fruitful life ,the problem today with our education system we teach the youth if you aren’t successful by 18 your a failure, if you don’t children and married by 25 you have failed. Why do we teach the youth there timelines of life? Life is long and precious and there shouldn’t be a time stamp on life because everyone path is unique. This is just one of the many ways to prepare students for more filling future let’s not give them a timestamp on life when life is precious. To better prepare our youth for real life occurrences we should offer financial literacy courses and even home economics.

Miami born sensation Sayrabi Goodlett (1996-present) known as Kayla inspired by her fathers dreams of being a chef made her fall in love. At age 4 she got her first McFlurry set and allergic reaction ,that never stopped her love for food. Growing up with her mother she would always make amazing meals to comfort her and always said the secret ingredient is love. The older she became she perfected the craft at age 13 she got her first baking set and would make desserts at family gatherings. At age 19 after completed culinary school she began to sell cheesecakes for the city of Broward, Palm beach and Miami. She became an official business owner of KaylasKooking in 2016 where she was able to create her first cake that went viral a baby shower cake for a precious baby boy. During the pandemic she was able to create a beauty line due to the decline of foodservice. Erfkissbeautyllc where she sold soaps, wax melts, and bath bombs her second business did so well she was able to have products in New York, Atlanta and Florida. In the same time she had her first viral video on YouTube video with 31.4K views. The channel name is kaylabooscorner. Four years later she established her modeling career where she was featured in magazines for brands like Createhershock, bovtiqvefashionweek and Lisa Nicole most recent collection.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

To those who much is given much is much is required. Luke 12:48 The best advice I can give to anyone who is building up there social media would be to be consistent that is the key. You never know what video or post could possibly be the one to give you your break. Remain consistent never compare and be happy even when it’s not you in the winner chair because when it is your time no one can take that away from you.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

So this was one of the most important things that I had to learn becoming a business owner when you have a business you have to make sure that you have an LLC and make sure that your business is separate from you as it’s own entity. This is so important for business owners to learn because it separates you from your business. Also make sure that you have separate bank accounts so your business actually looks legitimate to the banks. Once you have done these steps it will help you in the long run when you’re doing your tax write off‘s for your business. The most important advice that I can give about running a business in the financial aspect of it would be to re-invest into your business.
