We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kayla Fox. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kayla below.
Alright, Kayla thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
To be successful it takes dedication and perseverance. I can’t tell you how many times I failed and how many times I went to school before I found my passion for esthetics. You should never feel down about your failures but instead see them as a learning opportunity to grow and evolve. I graduated in phlebotomy /electrocardiogram before, I went to school for esthetics my passion to want to help people feel good drove me to this career. Upon graduating I went into the world to pursue my career but was slightly disappointed in the fact that no one wanted to hire a newly graduated ekg tech / phlebotomist. Determined to be a boss I enrolled back in school and began my earbuds journey . Along the way of course there was many road blocks one which changed my life for the good and bad the passing of my 2 month old daughter. I was devastated and didn’t know how I was gonna continue but the love I have for my children and wanting to create a legacy for them is what drove me to continue to persevere until I saw it through, I graduated and went to work immediately to grow my brand and business. I named my business serenity’s beauty vault in memory of my daughter and I plan to do her proud and make her live on through the success of my business. Serenity you shall live on and your name shall be heard across the world.

Kayla, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello my name is Kayla fox I am the owner of Serenity’s Beauty Vault. I chose the beauty industry because I love to make people feel good and to enhance someone’s natural beauty. The world today has evolve so that it has people thinking that they have to make a drastic change and conduct cosmetic surgery in order to fit into society or love themselves. Here at the Beauty Vault I teach self love and show women how to enhance their natural beauty. I encourage natural face beats and natural lash extensions. I provide facials, full body waxing ,lash lifts and tints and lash extensions. My goals for my business are to have my own storefront and cosmetic and skincare line that’s affordable for everyone. As an entrepreneur I will forever continue to purse educational classes and constantly evolve with the beauty industry.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for me growing my clientele has been customer service, flexibility and dedication. My clients love the fact that I work with their work schedules. I dedicate a lot of time to my business and try to always be present at work. My customer service is excellent and I always aim higher than what is expected.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
The initial capital to start my business came from my first job. I was a plan benefit advisor working for cvs as a help desk agent. I hated this job but I did it to fund my second job which was ethics I worked from home and would get off work and go to work my second job which didn’t pay me much but I continued to persevere. I reached out to en establishment called hair bar and began working with them in a room as an independent contractor after making this decision my career catapulted and I was able to quick my main job and make my second job my main source of income. It has been three years and I have been goi g strong and hope to go harder and see more success in the near future.
