We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kayissa Green. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kayissa below.
Kayissa, appreciate you joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
I took the risk of becoming a full time business owner. Knowing that I had 3 kids depending on me, one day last year I decided that I wasn’t finding employment that was fit for me, any job that I had I made myself fit for it instead & I don’t like to do that. I like to be free, create my own schedule, and abide by my own rules. I decided then that I would dedicate myself solely to marketing and promoting until I made people believe in me and I did just that.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Kayaissa Green I went into business as a boutique owner selling eyelashes and clothes. I feel like that only opened the door for me to explore business as a whole. After years of learning and enhancement I advanced to the more business side of business. I invested into learning more about business credit and in the midst of that I learned that business credit still needed personal credit and from there I started learning about personal credit and found it to be my new found passion.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
There’s been days where I felt like I didn’t have the support that I needed to fully execute my business. I couldn’t work to my full potential everyday because most days I didn’t have proper child care. I only had opportunity to work on school hours and if you’re a business owner you know that’s not enough time. Some days lack of support in that area really bothered me but I pushed through.

Has your business ever had a near-death moment? Would you mind sharing the story?
There’s been days where I almost missed payroll while having a clothing stand in Citadel mall. However, I’ll always remember being able to call on a really good friend and he’d pay it with no hesitation.
