We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kayden Gordon. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kayden below.
Alright, Kayden thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about growing your team – how did you recruit the first few people, what was the process like, how’d you go about training and if you were to start over today would you have done anything differently?
When I first started up my business, it was 100% me for about a year and a half. From there, I had brought on my producer John Graham for about 4 years, and then from there, he has decided to step down as a part time radio tech which I support that decision. Recently, I have had the absolute pleasure to hire on my first ever, and not to mention amazing lead secretary/receptionist Tammy Curcuru. Although I have not met her in person, I have fell in love with her work ethic and how she is willing to get work done. Through my partnership with AnswerNet and Christine West, my sales executive, my experience with hiring on a company and having the support from some amazing ladies such as Christine and Tammy within the company. From there, I’ve had an opportunity to visit Nashville quite a few times. My first time was in July of 2023, and I went back at least two more times after that. One of the people who I happened to find in Nashville is Beth Holli, who I took on as my first client on management. Beth has been a valuable team member not only as an artist of mine, but she is the reason I had been able to find such an incredible musical family that I know will be a part of my life and my company ventures for a lifetime. Just a few months ago, in March, I had an opportunity to meet Christina Alexander and Elliot Simon of Mission Road, who I brought on to my team as the second artist to manage and promote. Christina and Elliot were absolutely amazing to be around and excited to have them on as artists as well. It really comes full circle having people that care about you on your team.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a syndicated host for “The Kayden Gordon Show, Today’s Best Country Mix ”. I started out in radio at a young age, and has been striving in bringing his show to over 150 radio stations. I had always loved country music, and always have listened to country radio stations, including (WKLB) Country 102.5 in Boston, MA. Two of my favorite DJs are Ayla Brown and Carolyn Kruse. I found my passion for radio while listening to WKLB, and I ventured out on Facebook internet radio groups. “The Kayden Gordon Show Today’s Best Country Mix” is a 2 hour syndicated program playing the best country mix of today mixed into yesterday’s country. I like to hang out with my dog Scout and go outside and go to different places, and I enjoy watching TV in his free time outside of the radio world. I also run an online radio station called “Kayden Gordon Radio Network”. I also run my own successful media and promotions company called “KJG Media and Promotions, LLC” which provides radio distribution to over 7 thousand stations worldwide, social media marketing, website development, and much more supporting more than 300 artists worldwide. I am most proud of having a amazing family (my mom and grandmother mainly) for always supporting me, thank you to my musical family Award Winning Artists, and all-around heartwarming Beth Holli, Christina and Elliot from Mission Road, Lily and Elisabeth from Sisters J, Autism Advocate & Author Mary Elizabeth Jackson, Singer Songwriter Michael G. How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
First, it started with sponsorships for my radio shows, and you had to get very creative with trying to raise money, so after I did sponsorships for a while and noticing that was not working, I had decided to start doing promotion for artists and that is when I started to find something that worked to fund my business.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, I would have to say, seeing the smiles on people’s faces when they do an interview with me or finding out their song charted on a chart or getting airplay on radio.
