Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kay Masri . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Kay , thanks for joining us today. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your business and how did you resolve those issues?
Relocating our business from a shopping center to our current location was the most challenging. We needed to stay within our original community to protect our business we had created. Finding the right location was very stressful because at the same time my Dad was very ill. I worked with brokers and found a location.
Kay , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We are family owned, operated. We serve middle eastern/Mediterranean food and drink. My husband is the chef and uses family recipes. Consistency sets us apart because we never lose our Chef.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I was in corporate world and never worked in a restaurant. My youngest Son had asthma and I traveled a great deal and I did not like being away from him overnight or extended periods. I left my job which was tough as I loved it and I was very good at it. This was over 15 years ago and working from home or remotely was frowned upon, so I felt I had no choice. I decided to help my husband and here we are.
How’d you meet your business partner?
My husband.
