We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kay Janae a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kay thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The main reason I became a makeup artist was because I was bullied. I started doing makeup to be different, fit in , feel pretty when no one ever made me feel such. But what I didn’t realize is God had a plan for me right before my eyes.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My business started with a heart felt story, I did grow up such a girly girl but felt like I couldn’t . With how my childhood was good/bad god placed this passion onto me so yes everything begins with my childhood honestly. When I was introduced to the beauty industry/ cosmetic industry my main goal was to be different. Although that should not ever be the case. Learning the entire meaning of makeup took a while for me to uphold. As I grew older I had to then learn the way to Truly love myself ! Overall the task was very hard I conquered everything and still have a few steps to climb. I mastered the true meaning of cosmetics. In order to look pretty overall you have to feel beautiful. And doing makeup realizing how much impact and history is behind it has changed my view tremendously. With my clients as I am an artist I am mostly the “safe place ” where not only I hear stories but I make everyone know and feel as much beauty in the world . And I am proud of not only myself but everyone .
As my career progressed I God works in mysterious ways and I give him full control of my future and my life. I was blessed with the opportunity to do a celebrity ! Despite of how I was feeling around that time i still smiled through everything.

Had to learn that everyone story is different. And I am the author of my story. And not everyone has the best intentions when it comes to you

Post your content! Yes, sometimes we get lazy but always post your content. Learn new social media techniques. Find the audience for you ! It will come trust me
