We were lucky to catch up with Katya, Chris Diaz, Hierro recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Katya, Chris, thanks for joining us today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
Yes we make a living making music but would love to be able to focus even more on performing and songwriting. We supplement our income with tours, singing for hire, songwriting for hire and production. Both of our stories are quite different and diverse.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
We write produce and perform all of our own original music. Not sure what to say here, we just want to reach more ears with our music.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Our goal is to stay true to our story and our particular view and voice. We aren’t looking to chase trends, we are trying to set them. Honestly our music speaks louder than anything we can say here.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
Creatives don’t need advice on what sells or what kind of art they should be making. Artists need support and understanding that its a 24 7 job. Artists need to stay true to themselves above all things.
