Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Katrina Taitt. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Katrina, thanks for joining us today. Alright, let’s jump into one of the most exciting parts of starting a new firm – how did you get your first client who was not a friend or family?
My husband, an ordained minister, and I, have always had the desire to see marriages thrive based on God’s outline for marriage. Both of us, having experienced divorce in our past, discovered our purpose together once we got married. So on pursuit of this purpose, he became an ordained minister and I obtained my coaching certification. We honestly just wanted to help people, never thinking to actually consider it a business until we got our first paid request for coaching! The woman was actually a co-worker of my husband and she and her fiance were looking for Christian Premarital coaching. She knew he was a minisrer and that we were advocates of marriage. They agreed to our terms and price and that was how it started. Unfortunately, that couple didn’t get married, but the woman actually married one of their other co-workers and the fiance went on to marry someone else as well. Everyone’s happy!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a certified Christian Premarital and Marriage Coach along side my husband, ordained minister, Cornelius. This is the second marriage for both of us. Having experienced divorce, we didn’t want others to experience the same if they didn’t have to so we became advocates for marriage done God’s way. We then started a FB group called Marriage Takes 3 w/Team Tee. There, we talk about the ups and downs of marriage and we use Biblical principles to encourage and interact with our followers. We promote God’s design for marriage and the answer for any proud may experience in marriage can be found in the Bible. When coaching clients, we rely on scripture and sound doctrine to help meet their needs.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for us has been social media. We post a 30 min live video every Monday night in our group. We choose a topic for each Monday night live and we talk about it. We even ask the group members for topics of discussion. A lot of our clients have been members of the group.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think our transparency and authenticity has helped build our reputation. Also, our love for God and marriage. When people see and talk to us, they get the real #Team Tee. We want marriages to thrive, not just survive and people can see that in the way we interact with them.
