We recently connected with Katrina Green and have shared our conversation below.
Katrina, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
It was a dream come true for me to become a Professional Organizer. I started my journey as an Interior Designer but when I found Home Organizing back in 2014, I instantly knew this was what I was meant to be doing.
It wasn’t until 2018 when my husband was diagnosed with Adult ADHD that I honed in on wanting to become a resource to those who have neurodiverse brains in regards to organizing and simplifying their lives. I started looking for opportunities to learn more about how the brain and organizational skills are related.
My mission is to support badass, neurodivergent folks to experience peace of mind, inclusive organizing systems, and intentional days free of judgment and overwhelm.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, my name is Katrina. I am a Filipina Immigrant who moved to the United States in 2016 and immediately started my home organizing business, Badass Homelife in 2017.
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design in 2011, later got licensed to practice and designed several residential and commercial spaces. One particular project that I hold very dear to my heart is when I was given the opportunity to organize a warehouse for an events company. This event was the true catalyst for me to pursue Professional Organizing.
When I created Badass Homelife, I had this vision of being able to promote self-trust and confidence in badass professionals and neurodivergent entrepreneurs so they can intentionally crush their goals, clear their minds, and feel at ease.
We do this by providing tools, certified resources, and a judgment-free space to create a system for your home organization and business efficiency. The way your brain works is badass and by truly embodying who you are, we can make organizing your space and time easy and enjoyable.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
In 2020, when everyone was forced to shut down their businesses, I had to completely pivot the model to purely virtual/online. I’ve been preparing this before the pandemic, had some interest but it wasn’t really giving me the income that I needed to stay afloat.
When 2020 hit, I knew I had to go all in on this and apart from starting virtual organizing, I also started formulating workshops that are on a lower price point and I honestly enjoyed it and now commit to doing several a year.
Pivoting can be scary cause it’s so unknown but as soon as you jump in and embrace it, it does get easier and it might even surprise you with abundance!

How did you build your audience on social media?
Because I had just moved to the US, I didn’t have any friends or family to market my business to or even offer discounted rates just to get my bearings. I started everything by creating an Instagram page in 2016. I started posting some organizing tips, I called them #JustTheTip where I would take photos of the things I do to stay organized, how to maximize your cabinet space.
I slowly grew a following but none of them were really converting to customers so I decided to go harder by constantly posting about my business on Facebook groups and saying that I can help them get organized etc. I also started attending networking events just to meet new people but overall, my efforts were still making sure I have 3 posts a week on social media. Social media for me acted like a farm where I plant seeds and slowly water them. The efforts are not instant and do not be swayed by the number of likes you get per post. What’s important is that you are continuously showing people that you are active, you are available to help and that you are relatable.
