We recently connected with Katrina Fleisher and have shared our conversation below.
Katrina, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. One deeply underappreciated facet of entrepreneurship is the kind of crazy stuff we have to deal with as business owners. Sometimes it’s crazy positive sometimes it’s crazy negative, but crazy experiences unite entrepreneurs regardless of industry. Can you share a crazy story with our readers?
Within the world of media/marketing, I have found a niche in the entertainment and event industry, and I work very closely with my husband’s company, Let’s Party! DJs & Events. Working closely with entertainers, I’ve certainly seen and heard some “crazy” things!
A few years ago, my husband’s DJ company was hired to perform a wedding reception in a cemetery where a late relative of the bride was buried! It was also a gothic-themed wedding held on Halloween night, which added to the eerie nature of the celebration.
Another anecdote involves most of a bridal party skinny dipping in a hotel pool!

Katrina, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I own and operate Click Kat Marketing & Media as a consultant and writer, specializing in the events and entertainment industry. I also run Let’s Party! DJs & Events and South Florida Weddings with my husband and business partners, putting together full catering and event packages that can be taken to over 20 local venues. Our collaborative businesses are responsible for over 300 events per year.
I wear a lot of hats, so it can be challenging to pinpoint exactly what I do, and indeed, it fluctuates. I design email mailings, websites, event invitations, postcards, brochures, ads for social media, and business cards. I also write website copy, articles, press releases, personalized wedding vows, and poetry, and I’ve even done voiceover work for radio ads.
I’ve always enjoyed all things creative, and when I met my husband, I realized I could use my interests to take his business to the next level while also making a niche for myself within the marketing industry. I enjoy spreading messages of love and celebration and promoting companies and individuals that offer both quality and value to clients.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Different types of businesses require different social media strategies. If you’re a musician or podcaster, your reach could be national or even global, but if you are a local business, such as a food truck owner or power washing company, you will need to focus more on local online outreach.
I have had more experience promoting the latter: local, service-oriented businesses. It’s vital your social media accounts highlight examples of your best work with engaging and eye-catching posts. Facebook and Instagram ads are a great way to increase exposure and gain new clients, and Facebook groups can also be fantastic for meeting potential clients and fellow vendors to collaborate with.
My husband and I created the Facebook Group, South Florida Weddings, which has become one of the fastest growing groups on Facebook nationally! If you are engaged or in the wedding business, it’s a great place to start.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients are referrals from other professionals and companies. Ultimately, business comes down to relationships. If you want to thrive, work on building solid connections with people who can bring you business, and in turn, bring business back to them! If you own a business, everyone you meet should know what you do.
