Hi KATJA, thanks for joining us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.

Self taught singer/songwriter, pianist, guitarist, music and video production, Katja is quite literally a one woman show. Gaining more and more momentum as each song drops performing at top name venues including Hotel Cafe, Hotel Utah,The Viper Room and Blush Wine Bar. As a singer/songwriter, top-line vocalist for DJ’s, and solo producer, Not only does Katja create, record and produce her own musical content she works as a top-line artist collaborating with Dj’s and producers and by submitting her vocals. And if that’s not enough, she also submits voice over work for varies radio/t.v. commercial campaigns or projects.

“I love what I do. But yea, it can be a lot at times – the music + video + promo + live shows, not to mention back end business with contracts, royalties, etc., However, I’ve been learning so much in the process. Not only about the music industry and the engineering, but about myself. Who I as an artist and all the evolutions that entails. And most recently, learning how to trust myself and the process every step of the way.”

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

A personal fact about Katja is that she was born in Romania and adopted at 3.5 years of age living in Switzerland for a short time then shortly after landing in Silicon Vally, California.

Last but not least, Katja is excited to announce that her most recent single “Trouble” is officially out now live on all music streaming platforms including Spotify, AmazonMusic and more. This is a song you absolutely want to hear!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

Katja is actively working toward her dreams of placing her own songs along with voice-over work in commercials, t.v. and award winning cinema globally. “I can’t wait to have that moment when I get to say “Wow! That’s my song or my voice in that movie!” Katja shares. Equally, and if not more important, Katja wishes to only offer a sense of belonging, healing, empowerment and much more to those who seek it through her music. In addition, Katja is also exploring and evolving as an artist personally and as more unfolds which she shares is an internal curiosity that drives her. “I have no idea where this will take me but I’m open” – Katja

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?

It can be a lonely road for a musician. Especially when you’re still in the beginnings of rise and even more so in this social media client we are in now a days.

One of the hardest pieces in this process as an independent musician is the self-promotion. “I can be in the studio for days at a time recording songs with a million harmonies and be so happy but where I really have a hard time is self -promo”

So when a friend and/or fan shares a song or a post by that artist.
