Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Katie Valadez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Katie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Picture this… the world is shutting down, your new business space isn’t totally built yet and you’re not sure if you will get to continue to be open. TBD
April 2020, Family Connection Chiropractic opened it’s doors with a picnic table for a front desk, walls not completely built in the space, nothing decorated on the walls, and no glass on the private room window.
Two years later, we’ve continued to serve families, thrive, and NOW have an beautiful front desk entry way,
With a commitment to serving, loving and holding space for our members through ALL of life’s up’s and downs, we’ve continued to serve our community that we love and cherish.
The pandemic was a weird and interesting time, filled with loss, stress, pregnant people being extremely scared, and lots of uncertainties… BUT, we are finally in a place that we get to see the range of peoples’ emotions, without masks- unless they prefer to wear one (totally cool with us)…. AND we also finally have decorations and feel like a put together practice. YAY!
The beauty of chiropractic is that all we need is a table and our hands to serve, love, and support our members. We are Family Connection Chiropractic, where people enter our practice as sometimes strangers, and end up becoming part of our FAMILY & COMMUNITY… because what we do IS CONNECTION.

Katie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We are a family centered, community driven, connection based space. We specialize in pediatric, pregnancy, postpartum and family care.
We have what members describe as a “homey” vibe, in an open adjusting space where kids can roam free and be themselves while everyone hangs out and get adjusted.
Often times, people and or families become friend through our practice, due to the shared space and open adjusting environment.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Mindset, gratitude, meditation, therapy and centering is the most important thing when serving our members in the way we do. We as business owners have stress outside our business and still need to show up, serve, and put our customers/members first.
In those hardest personal days, those above practices and putting in a ton of self work pays off to be able to still succeed and give customers a great experience-regardless of the DAY or hard chapter one may be going through outside their business. Professionally excellent is the name of the game.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe our reputation has been built based on the service we provide. Working on our communication to hold space for members is at utmost importance. The book non-violent communication and way of listening is extremely important when listening to customers’ feedback.
In the rare occasion, a member has had negative feedback, amazing customer service, listening and making amends goes a long ways.
Fortunately, our google and yelp reviews speak volumes to our members’ experience, which has lead us to have a great reputation within our market.
